Good luck 👍

So I've now got unavoidable social events on all three days - but still planning to try this at Superhero setting! I'm going to try and replicate this little armour base in 144th with an M60A1 to make a scene from Exercise Reforger 1982.

1/164 YT-1300 Corellian Transport - DONE ++
Tim R-T-C replied to Dermo245's topic in Above the Karman Line GB
Exquisitely nutty but wonderfully realised. Top work. -
My primary goal for this year to come, is to step up my vignette game. If anyone has seen my output on display at shows, I have, for the past two years, stuck to 10cm bases, allowing for a single engine plane with vehicle and a small number of figures. My aim is to start working on 20cm bases, allowing for multiple aircraft or multi - engine types and more detailed scenics too. The big change in my modelling setup that should assist this is the arrival in the New Year of a professional fume extractor, so more spray painting is possible, to greatly ease painting and varnishing larger airframes. All being well, this will all start in January with this beauty in the Allied Twins GB which will be accompanied by an airfield of crew and vehicles.

Great War aircraft being towed or transported without wings
Tim R-T-C replied to Tim R-T-C's topic in Aircraft WWI
Found and ordered a copy, thank you. Thank you for finding this. A nice little vignette. Thanks for the detail. -
The struts on the wings are incredibly fiddly, tiny pieces of plastic. I personally would fit the upper wing parts before painting or rigging as I recall it took a lot of Tamiya ET to get a solid fit and took a lot of retouching afterward. Aside from that its a well engineered kit with good instructions, you'll have a good time.

Really enjoying following this GB and great to see some of the lovely Platz 144th kits appearing and some Latin American schemes too.

A superb little stash forming there. The Platz kits are amazing, the Sweet kits are good although some, particularly the Wildcat, are bereft of any cockpit detail. Looks like you have the Cartograph decal versions of the Mustang and Thunderbolt - these have very nice thin decals, those in the earlier boxings are very heavy and non conformal.

They're gorgeous kits - I think the finest all-injection kits ever made in 144th. Wonderful detail.

Beacon Models Messerschmitt Bf109 E-4

A lovely showcase of this kit. Nice work. -
Its a Platz moulding with new decals. Lovely kit. Be aware, the decals are the newer Eduard sort, so ultra thin - just need to dip them very briefly in hot water. Also this kit is really rare - just 150 sets made, so save the unused decals.

Great War aircraft being towed or transported without wings
Tim R-T-C posted a topic in Aircraft WWI
Hello all, I saw a lovely vignette online recently with a Nieuport being towed along a road with its wings removed. A brief look in my minimal Great War reference library found some pictures of Nieuports again in Russia being transported by train sans wings. I was just wondering: 1) Was this a common feature of some or all Great War types to be able to have wings removed for transportation. 2) Does anyone have some good inspiration photos of this sort of transport occuring that they could share - or a reference book to which they could refer. Or if anyone has made a similar vignette I would be very interested to see. Many thanks. -
This delightful looking kit is currently on its way to me - combined with some bomb trolleys, crew and a Crossley GS tender, it should make a nice start to my 2024 vignette builds.

Out of curiosity - would a project 'cancelled' by the Allied Armies' arrival be acceptable? Thinking the German Ba-349 or the Japanese J7W1s for example.
-
Looking through my stash I remembered I have two Me-309s I built one a while back and it was such a pleasant kit to build (for a short run Brengun model) I picked up another pair, to make a vignette with the two later versions of the prototype. I definitely think that this one ticks the GB boxes - four prototypes built, but the project cancelled before any production. The aircraft will be in their authentic prototype schemes.

For the Storch - an easier solution if German decals were desired - a generic sheet of decals in 144th would probably fit just fine on the small Storch fuselage. I did this with the Tamiya 1/100 Me-163. However I do like the look of that captured scheme - especially the hand painted roundels.

Impressive work, I never knew about all those extra lumps and bumps on the F-5.
