  1. The Warrior has now had a basing of grey, work on the camo during the week. I spent today on the support vehicles. These are Hilux-esque trucks 3d printed from Butlers Printed Models. They come with a great selection of Technicals fittings including AA guns and BMP turrets, I've got the Type 63 rocket launcher and ZSU 23-2 going on here. The design is good but sadly the 3d printer they use leaves very pronounced stirations and flash around the wheel wells in particular that even a hard attack with metal files struggled to clean up. So I've got it as good as I could and hopefully I will be able to hide it with rust and dust. For the Type 63 I added extra driver protection armour from some of the removed 3D print supports, however after laying out the vignette this one might get bumped for space.
  2. Thanks to some eBay-fu I have now got four F-5Es and an F-20, whatever that is 😁. So a duo of Iranian jets with one converted to an F-5F. A North Yemeni model and one awaiting ideas. Lets hope some more light jet enthusiasts see this GB and join in.
  3. Finished my first MiG-15, only got a dozen left in the stash for this GB so I hope it makes the cut soon 😁
  4. Thanks. Well it took a while due to getting easily distracted by other projects and wanting a day when I had the room to myself before cutting and sanding the resin, but I have now made a start. It has since received a spray with resin primer, so now onto interpretation of the colour scheme which dates back to prewar Lybia but varies in every photo!
  5. I'd be game, I built one of the Sweet Models Macchi Mc200s recently and I've got four more in the stash. Plus Italian decals for Stukas and Bf109s, some SF260s and possibly some Roman whitemetal wargame figures that I'm sure I could find some use for!
  6. I've got a handful of resin conversions in the stash from Retrokit, including an F-5F, MiG-21 UM and Harrier T.10 so I'm sure I would have something to join in here.
  7. With the runours of AMGs demise I gave up waiting for their early 109s to appear at Hannants and ordered a handful from the Ukraine. Although apparently delivery can be several months so they might not make it for this GB! I'll probably start with this duo for which I also have the Brengun etch set to play with
  8. So now complete, added a selection of tools and some mail sacks for the Kubelwagen. I'll take some gallery pics this weekend, but the finished article looks something like this. Thanks for good support and encouragement, glad I didn't skip this one. 😁
  9. I vote GiNA. Looks great on this kit.
  10. Figures in place, just need a few final accessories...
  11. Glad to see you are having fun in the Bonsai scale, I hope you stick around for some more projects after this one. As you are probably finding, there is a gulf in quality between the Eduard kits - designed with the same love and detail as their much bigger models - and the Zvezda which are quick wargame kits with very average quality. I'm sure a few of us on here would be happy to advise on other good quality kits in the scale. Maybe the Sweet Wildcat and Zeros for an alternate Pacific war mobile? πŸ˜‰
  12. Enjoying watching this unusual build, but I do particularly love this photo. Great composition with the toothbrush and he looks to be really enjoying his wash.
  13. The Eurofighter is a very good kit. The Su-34 is a complete dog! Either way, look forward to seeing which you pick 😁
  14. I started keeping a Google sheet of all my kits, but when I got to 300 airframes I stopped. 😳
  15. Had to slow down slightly, had unexpected family concerns, but managed to dust up and glue down the vehicles and seperate some whitemetal figures from their bases. Also dug out a selection of stowage and accessories for the vehicles. Priming and painting to do during the week.
  16. So making this my primary build for the weekend so lets see if I can get the whole thing built! Painted up. Of course they are all grey. You might notice a couple of extra support vehicles in there too. Made a quick base on a canvas. Going for a dusty road somewhere in the Ukraine feel - trying to avoid the traditional mud or snow look for Russian campaign scenes. Managed to scour some decals - numbers from my spares bin and crosses and unit symbols one of my wife's Dragon Panzer Corps kits which come with strangely extensive decal sheets.
  17. What a fun project. The Eduard and Eduard rebagged Platz kits are superb and among the best in the scale. The 190 even has stencilling! Be aware the FW190 and P47 have the 'new' Eduard decals. Only a few seconds in hot water to loosen them any more and they fold and float away.
  18. I really need to monitor my GBs better! Got an open Desert Storm and Africa GB to finish this month, Unarmed underway and pledges for T6 and non-injection. So of course today I started a Panzer III GB build 😏
  19. Hello all, I was probably going to pass on this GB since I normally leave AFVs for my wife to build, but while stocking up on support vehicles at Arrowhead Minatures I found they were selling off Stug III models cheap and "accidentally" ordered five... 😏 These are obviously some of their older kits with only four parts (and a mysterious extra length of track) so assembly with the Gorilla stuff was pretty quick and I have a nice Stug stash.
  20. I hope its not too late for a quick Stug quintet?
  21. Ha crap. After putting the first set of decals on I sprayed a gloss coat to protect them while adding the next layer and I must not have shaken the can enough because it tarnished a little on the top and on the grey under. Added the rest of the decals without problems so lets see how it looks after another varnish coat...
  22. I'm loving the inspiration shots, mind if I add my own from my latest build... Although the next model on my bench looks in an even worse state. To follow...
  23. Came for the cat, stayed for the really good weathering. Particularly on the figures - subtle but effective.
