  1. Absolutely beautiful build!! i shall definitely be referring to your build thread as I have three of these revell kits in my stash to do! A normal one I got to practise prior to doing the ltd Ed eduard kit and the farewell one as well. Can’t say I’m looking forward to doing any of them after reading some of the comments lol!!
  2. Hi folks! I’m buikding a 1/48 F-16 and have decided I want to do it as it’s just coming off the production line and so still in primer prepaint. To do it justice I need some maintenance scaffolding/ladders/platforms for it but can I find any!?🤷‍♂️ if anyone has any ideas, preferably not scratch build as I’m not proficient enough for that sadly, then I’m all ears! Like this pic if possible or similar. http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/f16_2.jpg
  3. 😮 that’s the best my totally amazed brain can manage at the moment!!
  4. “..it is articulated, so you could go flying” Peter, at this point I’d be more amazed if it DIDN’T fly!!😂
  5. Like everyone else; I thought that was a real flipping helo when I saw the first photo...and the second...and the third...you get the picture!! Outstanding work. Simply outstanding!!
  6. I’m sure it isn’t just me who expected those little figures to start actually moving!! The detail is amazing. I’m genuinely in awe!
  7. And here’s me worrying about getting a tamiya 1/48 P-51 built and painted! Amazing work! I love the comment half way down where you say “time to start on the detail” wha...what the fudge is all that you’ve done if not incredulous attention to detail! So impressed by the skills on show here. It motivates me to do better with my bog standard non modified models.
  8. @shark 64 thanks for the vote of confidence. I did pluck up the courage and posted my F-15 in the RFI section. I think the only bit I was reasonably chuffed with was the metal effects and even they are rudimentary at best😂 I keep looking at posts like yours and I am definitely picking up tips and tricks so I hope my next one(s) a tamiya 1/48 P-51D and a MiG-29 reflect that and are better
  9. That’s a beautiful model there matey! Very nicely done.
  10. Very nice! I do like the F-16 as a Jet. I may have to pick one up for the stash. How was the academy kit to build?
  11. I know how for me; work and kids!! thank you guys one and all for your kind comments. I spent the best part of 3 days umming and ahhhing about posting the photos up here after following WIPs from the likes of Fozzy and shark64!
  12. Very true! I love seeing the little sun assemblies coming together and then the painting. I really love the painting! Even more so now with the decent airbrushes.
  13. Oh and the camo patterns was freehand cause I got bored masking so thought I’d wing it and see what happened!
  14. Hi Gary, go on tell me how you know😊 thank you though; I appreciate your comments buddy very kind of you.
  15. So, here it is! In all it’s horrific glaring errors and dodgy masking attempts. This is the first model I’ve built in eight years and also the first I’ve done using acrylics and airbrushes for the majority. It’s also my first attempt at weathering and adding (hopefully!) realistic metallic finishes. I know theres areas that i could've filled and sanded better; areas that I should’ve masked better; the canopy is a mess - first time trying a liquid mask; the seam lines look much worse than they did in person and it’s a bit scruffy overall. I think I rushed in my desire to see one done so I plan taking much more time and care with the next; an Academy MiG-29 in 1/48. Please be gentle with me but any and all advice is graciously received! To the pictures! Thanks for looking!
  16. Thanks Filler! I think you’re being too kind on the eagle! There’s some very obvious areas to improve on for sure but thank you. 🙏🏻
  17. I think I might have a problem!! Eight models piled up waiting for attention and erm; a little bit of modelling kit from a standing start! Gone is the cheap eBay airbrush and now I’ve got two H&S! An ultra 2 in 1, which i’m using with the 0.4 nozzle and larger paint cup for primer, larger final paint schemes and varnishing and a evolution Silverline plugged into a 3L tank compressor with the 0.2 nozzle and a crown tip I think it is to help me see what I’m actually doing and to make clean up even easier! I especially like the ability to adjust the max paint flow with the control knob at the rear. Having the tanked compressor is great too and I never realised how much of a benefit it would be from the lower noise when it’s working and just the tune ability of it. If this is me after but three months I dread to think what my dining room is going to look like in a few years.
  18. Looks lovely. I’ve just ordered the kit myself as possibly the only WWII plane I’ll build as I’m much more into my modern jets but the P-51 just looks beautiful.
  19. Just uploading all of my photos to google photos now!
  20. Well, I’ve finished the F-15 now and seem to have acquired erm, seven...no sorry eight more kits to build! Mostly US or Soviet Jets but also an Apache and a P-51D cause it’s just a beautiful aircraft and I’ve been following the “lopes hope” build on here. It’s probably the only prop plane I’ll do. I also seem to have got a bit carried away on the equipment front but if a jobs worth doing and all that! Is there a way to add photos without using an image sharing site as I don’t use one since photobucket crapped all over its users! Thanks.
  21. I’m upto page 32 out of 56 on the Huey and I have to say; what absolutely stunning work! Simply stunning. Like others have said; I would fully expect it to work if you fuelled her up! I’ve just finished my first model after an eight year hiatus and compared to this it looks like it was built by a blind five year old epileptic mid seizure and then painted by a blind monkey having a rage!!😳 I was going to post the results here, well, not here but britmodeller...think I’ll wait til I’m more proficient!! Keep up the good work Sir; I’m off to read the last 26 pages or so now!
  22. I’m now trying to catch up on 58 pages of that build too!!! Your work is absolutely stunning matey! Really high quality professional level work.
  23. Wow!! I’ve just read all 33 pages and I’m completely gobsmacked at the level of skill here! I’d love to see the huey build if someone can give me a link please? I’ve tried searching but can’t find it anywhere! Really looking forward to seeing this one come to fruition but I’ve enjoyed watching it grow to where it is now. Absolutely outstanding!
  24. @Troy Smith thanks for the encouragement. I will maybe do a WIP...gulp. The guys at emodels near me have been really helpful in helping me get the paints I wanted/needed and offering advice etc. They did tell me of a modelling club but the meeting day falls on a night I have my kids so it’s not always going to be practical to go. I shall have a look for other ones though.
  25. Thanks for the welcome guys! I feel at home already! I’m making progress on my tamiya F-15C and enjoying trying out some of the techniques I’ve seen on WIPS and finished models! This is my test bed model for want of a better expression and I know it will be pitiful compared to the work on here as I get used to using an airbrush. I’ve already upgraded from the cheapo one off amazon for a decent H&S ultra 2 in 1. I know that’s their basic model but it’s doing everything I need and not confusing the issue with oodles of adjustability. Maybe in time I’ll go up a level but for now I’m happy. I’m really enjoying the painting and even the building again and love how much quicker and easier it is to get a decent thin coat of paint down on uneven surfaces; something I always struggled with with brushes. Not sure if I’ll put photos of the eagle on here as I’d feel a little embarrassed compared to others work. Main thing is I’m absolutely loving building models again. It’s extremely cathartic and satisfying.
