  1. Love a Phantom! I've got a Revell kit sitting opened and unloved in my cupboard. Should really get back to it sometime.
  2. Hey all! I'm in the market for my first airbrush and compressor set, and I admit I'm pretty much in over my head. As far as compressors go, I'm looking at this Artlogic - it seems not-too-cheap but also not breaking the bank? For my first airbrush, I've got a couple options that have been recommended to me several times over - first, a Badger Renegade Krome, and second an Iwata HP-CS. Some people I've spoken to have said the Krome is better serving as a dedicated fine detail brush, to be combined with a more generic paint-sprayer, but I dunno how relevant that would be to someone like me who'll be fumbling for his first few dozen hours with the thing regardless. Any pointers or suggestions? What was your first airbrush and would you recommend it to a budding beginner? Generic as hell topic I know, apologies.
  3. Would the RF86-F Sabre qualify as a specialist recce plane? I picked up one of these for cheap on FB Marketplace today! No guarantees I'll actually start or finish it though, I'm kind of trying to jump in with both feet here.
  4. Holy hell what a monster! Never even knew the Me 323 existed until I opened this thread, what an interesting plane
  5. Always loved the Voodoo, I wish I'd gotten to see one fly in the metal flesh like you did! I'll be watching with interest
  6. So you've decided against modelling hundreds of individual bottles of milk?? Shame! Looking great! I'm glad you found a way to continue your build.
  7. Jeez, crazy how much difference there is between two 'identical' kits! Really interesting thread so far, I look forward to seeing it come along
  8. Hey all. I'm Liam, and I've had a tumultuous run with modelling. When I was a kid I did the standard - Spitfires, Mustangs, all terribly glued together and painted like a child with no sense of how paint works. If they were painted at all. In 2016, after probably a 18 year absence, I picked up a 1:700 scale Yamato which I made a chaotic start on.. and promptly abandoned. In 2017, I picked up a 1:350 scale Kagero Destroyer, which I opened, looked at once, and then promptly abandoned. In 2018, I picked up a 1:48 F-4C/D Phantom, which I opened, sanded vaguely, and promptly abandoned. Suffice to say I struggle greatly with maintaining motivation, but with a recent change in scenery for myself I actually have space to keep something out for longer than an hour at a time, and I'm hoping having it sitting right there in front of me will help with my stay-to-it-ive-ness! I've picked up a Tamiya A6M2 which I'm planning to do up in plain white/grey and red - I'll make a Work in Progress thread in due course, but I'll hold off until I've made a proper start on it. I don't want to flake out again!!
