Hello I built this nice little kit last year. I found it very detailed, and despite complex assembly, fitting was pretty good. I added Microdisign PE, and canopy explosive cords from Quinta. Painted with AKREAL 247+239 for light blue ,236 for blue and249+239+a drop of purple for the grey. Weathering with oil, flat varnish from VMS. Bye Romain

thank you! as for the chipping, the whole model is primed with mr hobby 218, wich gives weak adhesion for paints applied on it. then the dark sea blue is painted, and after drying, chipped with toothpick and blade.

Hello Here is a build done in early 2020. Hasegawa F4U-7 Aires Cockpit Aires engine Pavla control surfaces Obsureco wheels Brassin HVAR and bomb Adecco decal The model depicts a plane during 1956 Suez Canal crisis. Some sources say that this actual airframe had only yellow stripes wihtout black ones. Aires cockpit needs some added details to depict a -7 such as armrests, and armament control boxes on each sides of the gunsight. Paint is AKREAL COLORS RC258 Dark sea blue, tuned with MrHobby C375 and a drop of H5. Hope you like it! Critiques and comments welcomed! Romain

Hi, I wanted to share some pictures of the new set from Katran dedicated to the AMK F-14D. The manufacturer released two sets: Open exhaust K4818, closed K4819 The parts are designed by CAD, an 3D printed on a high resolution machine. The exhausts and their Afterburner ducts are provided. You also get a vinyl mask sheet to help painting the feathers: The carbon texture and the shrouds is even depicted. The fit is quite good on the AMK pastic. Comparing to the AMK part: What do you think about it? I already used their Mig31 exhaust on my AMK Foxhound: I got my set from Katran directly: [email protected] But some sets seem available on hannants, hobbyeasy and the48ers https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION[]=All&q=katran The owner told me that he will release a variety of F-16 exhausts for kinetic kits as well. Hi, Here is my first ship build, 1/700 Fremm by Freedom model kit. The kit itself is not that great. Fit is not nice and engineering seems weird sometimes. But it was a test bench for me, to try new techniques as hull weathering, deck painting and rigging.
