  1. I don’t have the gumption to do that kit so I’m just stealing the resin bits. Kudos for a great looking kit.
  2. I’m saving this kit for the p-40 build. Great reviews so far. I’ll be doing the exact same scheme I think too.
  3. Oh man I didn’t even know. Time to find a good Mig -21F Kit and decals lol. Do a BMF finish and spray a clear coat on it to make it look dull. Do that F-84F too while I’m at it.
  4. Love the weathering, I’m about to begin mine in FAA colours. Did your kit need the rear cockpit glass carved out?
  5. Decals and stencils applied, I really do think adding stencils with the right colour makes quite the difference vs straights decals. Hopefully the last little problem I encounter is this one. I have no references available that indicate if I should have roundels on the top or bottom of the wings or even any kind of demarcation. I’ll look again tomorrow but I think there should be none. if anyone could enlighten me then that would be great. Just need to order some more serial numbers from the t-33 sheet I had because I’m missing two to complete the build. Once thats done done I’ll toss on a coat of flat do some stressing and she’ll be done.
  6. Work done on the fiddley bits. The walkways I have to make quite a bit darker so plan on addressing that shortly.
  7. Great looking Hind! I have to find an excuse to put together my big one now!
  8. Working on installing the barrels. A lot more difficult than I thought it should be.
  9. Fixed! Now comes the adventurous part. I have to drill two holes in each wing for the metal barrels. One I can easily do because of the cut off Hispano cannon, but I’ve got to free ball it for the adjacent cover. Had to rinse the resin parts today as I forgot to do that. Doh. Prop should get done in short order after that dries. Trying to muster up courage for paints and using the airbrush for the first time...
  10. Thanks, I really liked the way the belts turned out. Almost got a worn split leather thing going on. The plastic seat colour I had to mess around with as well to get the right effect which of course you can barely see. Started work on some more lovely sanding.
  11. So we had a mishap... Tiny dancers vibrations tend to make models fall when drying. I think I may have gotten off lucky. Had to reglue and most likely sand these joints again. Just after I finally figured out how the original colour that I was planning on using was too green. I instead opted for Tamiya Olive Drab. After trying to find close matches and pouring over some data I just decided the photo I was referencing most likely had a colour imbalance. Also much to my chagrin the red turned out poorly. So I will be hand painting that and touching up the silver before I move on. Should be able to wrap this sucker up within the week now.
  12. I think the only thing I could make is an A-10 warthog. They were still making the last ones I believe in ‘84.
  13. And that pitot tube broke off waaaay too many times.

I just finished the 1/48 and it’s huge, took up my whole workspace. I wish you luck in the smaller scale.
  15. Work has finished on the cockpit. Next up is some sanding of seems and installing the pit.
  16. Here we go with another plane with teeth. I plan on breaking out the airbrush for this so am quite worried about fudging it up. Lots of aftermarket including resin props and wheels to brass barrels.
  17. I’d like to think I did an ok job. I was experimenting quite a bit including weathering white. Figured on doing a all weather encounter which may include some mud and snow getting all over the aircraft. I think the Avro throwback scheme Planned out quite well. Definitely made me do a lot more worrying than I had expected for this build. I feel if Ihad devoted more time to this build there would have been a lot more fine tuning but I had so much on the go. Either way I like how it will look sitting next to my RCAF F-86D Sabre Dog and F-86F Sabre. Let me know what you guys think and what I could have improved on.
  18. Finally I can say I’ve had enough time to finish her.
  19. Lots of info on this and I like the look a lot. @Crimea River my family is in Calgary and I used to live there. I remember that chopper used to be on display up by the airport. Is your society planning on making it serviceable again? Would be great to see.
  20. A new tool Avro Arrow! I’m in. I hope next up is the Canuck. The old mould is hot and it’s really a jet with a good history but overshadowed by our mates down south.
  21. I’ve decided on the Hellcat and maybe even sneak in a Tempest. cant wait to see everyone’s builds.
  22. Decals on except for a few and have begun starting to weather a little bit. Wanna go for that all weather look and touch up the exhaust area. Please ignore that giant seam, I gave up.
  23. Shes almost done boys. finished up on the landing gear, and all the other tidbits that were waiting. Decided to forego the stripes as I just want to see this finished. Just have to put decals on and then I think I’ll weather it with pastels. Figure the white will be more forgiving than using inks. May decide to add a little pop of colour to the tail or fins but we will see.
  24. That’s awesome. Looks great. How’d you get the colour on the missile pod?
  25. Some more progress after a hiatus. Finished my Stuka however. Next will be the landing gear and then the pinstripe pattern on the wings. Almost there. Need to order some AIM 4’s or see if I can source some velvet gloves.
