  1. Once I had filled out the correct form they were fantastic, part arrive well ahead of the estimated delivery time. Got to Special hobby web site Contact, scroll down to bottom and click on Claims, make sure you fill out the correct form OR The emails I received came from this address [email protected]> Frome Ondrej Hajek PR & Claims Manager
  2. Sorry for late reply have been out of country for a while and web /internet access was limited Thanks. It is as I feared and the belts will need to be cut up and may be even altered to look anything like these photos and other I have seen. I was aware of the 3 point IJN harness but the way both sets are supplied they seem to implied the pilot would have to slip his head through a loop to fit it . Should have paid more attention to the photo before ordering particularly as the Kits World WWII Luftwaffe set is missing the "slice of Cake" additions to the lap belts parts, I don't recall seeing a picture of a Luftwaffe belt without these load spreading additions, I did email them and queried it but never got a reply.
  3. Hi, decided to model a few Japanese WWII aircraft and purchased Kits World Japanese seat belt set KW3D148017, bit disappointed (My fault I suppose , should have taken the time and done some research) as no instructions or diagrams of decal placement or which decals go with each other can anyone help , even a photo of of the decals in place would be better than what I have now.
  4. Ignore this request for information, Special Hobby seem to be as helpful as reported, appears I filled out the wrong contact form , having noticed this I completed the form for missing or damaged parts and within a couple of hours I had confirmation that Special Hobby had received my request and they would contact me when it had been processed, you cannot expect or get better than that as far as I am concerned, can think of one manufacturer who could learn a thing or two regarding customer support from companies in eastern Europe, my experience with Eduard and MAC Distribution has been wonderful and Special Hobby seem to have the same attitude.
  5. Hi, in 2014 there was a topic started concerning requesting replacement parts from Special Hobby, which I think all will agree is a long time ago so my question is:- Can anyone confirm if the contact and contact details for Special Hobby are still valid/current. I sent a email regarding a kit part via their site a few days ago and have not heard anything, will not bother them until Monday / Tuesday next week but thought I would ask now rather than wait and find out the contact/contact link has changed. Thanks in advance Pete J

  7. Hi, if I have posted this question in the wrong place please accept my apologies. Can anyone tell me if at the time of updating their MIG29`s to MIG 29AS standard if the Slovakian Air Force repainted them using NATO colours, I have the GWH 1/48 MIG29AS and would like to confirm colours used. Thanks
  8. I don`t get on with cameras very well so it takes me along time to get a decent photo, hence I don`t get many I am prepared to show but for those who kindly asked for more here is another shot of the Graf spee, the model shows the Gs as she looked when leaving German waters to take up station prior to the outbreak of WWII.
  9. That is a really nice build, congratulations.
  10. Yes I admit it, along with my other modelling interests I have a thing about submarines, well U-Boats, which leads nicely into the subject of this post. Having pre-ordered the forthcoming release by Revell of an early Type IXc u-boat I decided to invest in the decal sheet produced by Luftfahrtverlag START ( Same company that publishes the periodical "U-Boot im Focus) that are applicable to this model *. The decal sheet gives you emblems for 12 boats and 3 resin badges/ emblems, 2 crocodile heads on a circular shield for U-504 and an Axe for U-153. The decal sheet arrived the other day along U-Boot im Focus No 16, I have attached photos of the sheet and instructions for your consideration. Company web site address for the decals is :- https://www.luftfahrtverlag-start.de/decals/ * Apparently these boats have been chosen because the flood hole pattern on the hull matches that on the model, other boats also carried interesting emblems but to accurately depict them you may well have to rework the flood hole pattern.
  11. Chris, It would appear so, if all else fails RTFM
  12. I have recently taken delivery of some 1/144 scale RN and U-Boat crew figures by "Munich Kits" (http://www.munich-kits.com/), the detail in these figures is amazing and I have just been informed that they have released some U-Boat crew figures in 1/72 scale for the soon to be released Revell Type IXc u-boat, it is these figures that I have included a photo of, note the Type IX was the long range boat and as such saw service off the coast of North and South America as well as in the Indian ocean hence the "Tropical hat " worn by one of the figures.
  13. Courageous, The method I employed for the base I got from the book by David Griffith " Ship Models from Kits" the artists gel I used is a German product introduced to me by a fellow modeller from Hamburg Olaf Krabbenhöft, the name escapes me at present but when I get home I will post the name to you. Thank you for your comments and interest
  14. Arnold, Its the 1/350 scale Academy kit with extras, thanks for you comments.
  15. Ok , if all else fails read comments on page 13 not page 1.
