  1. Not sure what i'll build yet, but I have the following contenders: 1/24 Airfix Sea Harrier FRS.1 (Though I may be pushing it a bit to get this built and detailed to do it justice in just over three months!!) 1/48 Airfix Sea Harrier FA.2 w/Aeroclub seat (This too will need some work to bring it up to scratch, though easier and less time consuming than its big brother mentioned above) 1/48 Italeri grumman Avenger(Tarpon) (This would/should be a great one and relatively easy too) 1/32 Revell (ex-Matchbox) Spitfire Mk.24 converted with Jen's resin set to the Seafire (Easier now Colin@freightdog has some decals available for it!) 1/72 Trumpeter Wyvern (straight from the box) 1/72 Airfix Navy Lynx (I have the Airwaves set for this to add some much needed detail) 1/72 Italeri Merlin HAS.1 (Started this a while ago, but still needs a lot of work as i'm installing the Eduard interior and exterior etched sets) So, food for thought, I'm thinking the 24th SHar is a bit ambitious, but some of the rest should be doable, if not all of them!!!

    Alclad

Quote from a quick google which explains it better than I could.....
  3. ...and a bit more info on the display HERE
  4. Jeez Gordon, you're going to need a bigger modelling bench! Nice work so far, i'd bet its a beast to handle!?
  5. Hello Everyone! I've just this evening finished this Airfix 1/48 Spitfire F.22. its truly one of their great kits. I literally threw this together in a couple of weeks for some R&R in between other builds. I will certaily build more of these! The markings are from the Eduard rebox of the same kit as the Airfix decals were slightly out of register. I tweaked certain areas like adding seat belts from Eduard and copper wire brake lines to the undercarriage legs and drilled out the cannons. I used Alclad Aluminium over Halfords grey primer for the paint. Hope you like it and all comments good, bad or indifferent are most welcome.
  6. OoooooH! You can almost hear the roar of piston engines Lovely stuff Shaun!
  7. SUPERB STUFF!!!! Those first few pics of the flightline walk are great, what I call a proper "Airshow Sky" Good to see a bit of variety with three B-25's and a FW190. Was the three ship Mustang formation "The Three Horsemen" from the states? I read about them in the current Flypast magazine. Great photos Darius , many thanks for sharing.
  8. This is lookng good Dean. I have these links for you with pics of slats and flaps deployed and also the main gear and bays and the airbrakes deployed with interior shots. They should be just what you need Jaguar GR.3 Walkround Jaguar GR.3a Walkround
  9. MDC do a1/32 Bf109G-14 resin interior that looks fab, but its designed for the Hasegawa kit. Does anyone have both kits that they could compare their respective interiors , dimensions wise, to see if the MDC set could be shoehorned into the 21Century Toys kit? Just wondered!
  10. That'll be a Sentinel http://www.raf.mod.uk/equipment/sentinelr1.cfm Nice shots Stebos, love the silver spit too. These are PZL 130 Orlik's of the Polish AF Dispaly Team
  11. Yep they CAN be tricky, but airbrushed over a good primer they work exceptionally well. The Aluminium and Polished Steel both look very convincing. The Aluminum is a great starting point for High Speed Silver.
  12. Thanks guys, glad you all like it. Yes Mike they are 4 x 20mm cannons, moved from under the cockpit in the F7U-1. They were moved there in the change from -1 to-3, the-3M was uprated to enable the carriage of the Sparrow 1 missiles. But having this capability meant the need for a radar in the nose so they had to drop the IFR probe which was situated in the nose cone.
  13. Nice going Shaun. Bringing back my memories of building it.
  14. Excellently done, very nice finish on a classic kit.
  15. Hi All, Just thought I'd share this with you. I built as part of the Blitzbau GB over on the UAMF forum, where you pick a kit , any kit, and build it to as far as you can (finished if possible) within a 24hr time frame, in real time either in one sitting or 2 x 12hrs shifts. Its straight from the box inc stubborn decals. All commenst/critiques welcomed. Hope you like it!! Build thread: Linky This is what I achieved, finished in 20hrs.... Fujimi 1/72 F7U-3M Cutlass straight-from-the-box.
  16. Yep , that is a cracker of a kit Shaun, you'll enjoy this one mate!
  17. Nice piccies Darius!! Good to see Foxy lady in a "proper" paint job, nice flypast with a Skyraider too! I particularly like the Hawk colours, nice scheme, is this available in decal form yet?
  18. This is the 1:72 Anigrand AH-56A Cheyenne Helicopter, as with a lot Anigrand stuff, it took a bit of battling to get everything fitting and therefore looking good. Its relatively clean as only prototypes were ever built and all references I can find of period photos show very clean machines. Tamiy NATO Green was used for the main colour. The clear resin canopy was almost useless, I polished it out with micromesh and mer auto polish, and this is ten times better than how it started! To be featured with full build in a forthcoming SAM magazine.
  19. This is the Silver Cloud resin kit in 1:72 of the Avro 720 mixed power interceptor. A true "What if?" model. Its not without troubles to build , not least because for the prototye you needa NMF and the finish needs to be flawless for Alclad. I used Revell enamel gloss black as undercoat for Alclad Polished Aluminium and Aluminium. This will be featuring as full review in MAI magazine some time soon. Hope you like it!
  20. This is the1:72 Xtrakit Meteor T.Mk.7 built straight out the box. The build was a bit tricky around the intakes, otherwise a pretty much worry free build. Alclad Aluminium top and Humbrol Yellow and Tamiya Black undersides which was a bit of a 'mare to mask the pattern!! Weathering with pencil graphite. This will be featuring in a forthcoming issue of MAI magazine with full review. Hope you like it!
  21. Excellent work Dean. (did I miss something , but where are the decals for the FOD covers? )
  22. Thanks guys, glad you like it. Paul, its going to be in Scale Aircraft Modelling, NOT Scale Aviation Modeller Int'l
  23. Tamiya Flat White sprays best (thinned with Tamiya thinners or IPA)over a grey primer, the primer gives the paint something to "bite" into. Spray a couple of light mist layers on first then progressively heavier coats to build it up until you're happy with it. Alternatively a good way of spraying white is Tamiya rattle can fine white primer. Never used gloss, always had problems with it. Hope this helps!!
