in 1:100 scale? I tried flames of war but honestly the rules rules were terrible unrealistic and clunky so I switched to Battlegroup set of rules. in 15mm I would normally have 4-12 tanks per side and a platoon of infantry and support guns.
1:300 modern? Well, I usually have 20-40 tanks and IFV some aircraft and lots of infantry stands., each of those vehicle minis represent a platoon.
Your "diorama" making skills really come in handy in 1:300 scale games , the table and terrain really make it happen.
For those folks reading this that are not wargamers. Generally speaking wargamers use acrylics almost exclusively and have to deal with tip dry a lot especially in any scale smaller than 28mm.
Because of the scale pre shading color gradient washes and dry brushing is done in a much more pronounced way.
Oh and one thing I noticed about the scale modeler community as a whole as an outsider, you treat airbrushes much better than lots of wargamers. Us wargamers tend to destroy our airbrushes by cleaning or overcleaning them, constantly taking the whole airbrush apart using those silly metal and nylon brushes like its going out of style too much assembling and disassembly and constant ultrasonic baths that are not necessary on top of using things that often involve ammonia or copper solvents.
