Nice rigging! Nice to see that the bracing between the front cobane struts has the centre bit-thing in, I was too lazy to bother with that! Good job so far, plane sailing from now on! - Pun intended Congrats on the nephew as well, should be seeing some nice models in years to come if he takes after his uncle! Cheers Tim

I've been using Fairy Power Spray to strip the paint on my Mirage, works a charm! Just spray it on from about a foot away so it froths, and leave for about half an hour, as long as the paint isn't really thick you shouldn't have a problem mate. Doesn't stink of chemicals either! Also, if it came in the small plastic containers, its probably the awful Humbrol acrylics that they shove in with starter kits! Cheers Tim

Cheers Craig Thanks a lot Bobski! Your Tiffie was lovely I have to say, and you deserve the kind words mate! Although my Camel nearly didn't make it back! When I went to collect it, which was after final parade as my WO was making me organise and help to clean out our area, someone had robbed my shoebox, which was full of tissue paper to protect it! However, luckily my sqns diorama had an extra box and newspaper which just about worked, and luckily it did reach home in one piece! About my Sea Harrier , I've got a few things to do, mostly reattaching and painting bits, as well as sticking the bang seat in. One thing though, have you got any pics of that Shar, would love to see it after that nice Tiffie! Cheers Tim -
That weathering is awesome! The paint chipping looks so real Well done mate Cheers Tim

I thought it might be an interesting idea to post my last three finished aircraft, all for wing field day modelling competitions coincidentally. I hope this interests you! My Airfix 1/48 Sea Harrier FA2 was made for my first competion in June 06, and didn't break into the top 3. i was happy at the time as it represented my return to modelling at age 14. I tried a few new techniques with this, now very basic to me! (I broke the outrigger wheel as I was taking photos) Secondly, last years Revell Spitfire MkIXc, I was far happier with this one, and I tried some more advanced (at least they were to me ) techniques such as glossing before decals and weathering with a chalk wash and pastel weathering of gun stains. I was happy with the soot stains but the paint chipping was too fine and unrealistic IMO. I also made the harness for this out of masking tape. And thirdly, of course is my Revell 1/48 Sopwith F1 Camel, and as i'm too lazy to post the pics again, i'll give u a linky for it ! Camel I'm very happy with this one, my only bit i'm annoyed at is how light the colour turned out as in the photos, although it is just a tad light IRL. And my current WIP is my other SHAR 2. I started this when I was 12/13 so the construction and cockpit are very basic, but the finish will be as good as I can make it currently. I've also had a crazy idea I made a 1/48 Mirage 2000 when I was about 10, and TBH the build and finish is abysmal, however on further inspection I may be able to rescue the Mirage. I'll post some pics, and tell me what you think. Can it be rescued? Will oven cleaner strip the paint and glue? I'd like to credit my improvement to all the people who have posted techniques etc on places like here and ARC so evry one can benefit Thank you! Tim
