  1. https://www.abkmodels.cz/Nakajima-A2N3-1-48-d1.htm.... here's the link that doesn't want to load as a url…. maybe someone can help with that..??
  2. for those wanting 72nd scale kits....look for AZ Models...they did the whole line of the Hart family except the single seaters and Osprey I believe...
  3. Aero John.....Thank you very much, and it's nice to "see" you... cheers, Ross
  4. wished I had those when I built my FG.1 and FGR.2 kits....
  5. Anybody try the CMK set on the new Airfix Swordfish kits? If so, how was the comparison of detail, and did it fit? Have to do a lot of surgery to get it to fit?....a common problem with some Aires set and they still fit well! cheers
  6. wow....great pix....I attended in 2008 & 2009, my pix are not where near as good or prolific....Thank you for sharing!!
  7. ...what appears to be Photobucket? There are some fabulous pictures in there especially some of the close-ups....??? Anybody know? Thanks....
  8. ....and here it is without the emblem or 'zap'.....
  9. After some email back and forth with Malin Lucky at Sword, he is not going to add what I believe is a missing 849Sqn emblem, nor will he add the missing flaps. missing flaps for the decal "63". Above is a pic with an emblem on the fuselage for XL471. I cannot tell if that is a 'zap' or an actual squadron emblem. So, if you want to add flaps, they won't be added to the kit and you'll have to make them yourself or try Alley Cat for a pair. I'm not sure if the missing emblem is on an Alley Cat decal sheet or the Model Art set. Anyway, here's what the box artwork is based on.... cheers
  10. ....and further update....no response from Sword, that is definitely poor form....no good Sword!
  11. Just received my kit still sealed in shrink wrap, very nice. But, upon reviewing instructions and decal sheet I noticed a couple things missing. Where are the decals for the FAA 849 Sqn. emblem that is shown placed on the fuselage sides above "ROYAL NAVY"? That emblem is shown in both the paper instructions inside the kit and also on the color drawing on the box. Seems like a strange omission?? Also, the decal instructions show placement of "63" on the upper side of the flaps...hmmm, where are the flaps in the kit? I see no flaps, none on the kit parts listing, nor shown in the assembly instructions ....another strange omission..?? I just sent an inquiry to Sword asking the same questions. Anybody else notice these omissions?
  12. Can anybody provide scans of the cockpit reference photos found in the back pages of the DE HAVILLAND VAMPIRE NF.10 - PILOT'S NOTES? ...will make it easier to build the Classic Airframes kit plus apply instrument panel decals which the kit does not provide. You can PM me or email at rw00025(at)hotmail(dot)com...thanks in advance, cheers, Ross
  13. No matter where Airfix had this kit made....a very nice job Paul, and thank you for the step-by-step build review...it will help me when I get mine. I'd like to see Airfix(are you reading this?) get rid of the grainy exterior surface, sharpen up detail, improve the quality and hardness of the styrene, and tighten up those panel lines.
