  1. Could do with a wash, though.
  2. I had one of those once, a GT, with black vinyl roof. Nice car, took us to Nice and back in 1981.
  3. There's actually three that I know of (and have waiting). '73 Road spec with push button door handles and the later four stud wheels (Tamiya), '71 Monte (Tamiya), virtually the same kit but with proper door handles and the six spoke, three stud wheels and '73 Monte or Tour de Corse (Heller). If you dig back, you'll find a post from me about the differences in the shell mouldings, Heller is quite different and, I think, wrong.
  4. Clearly I'm a bit older, most surprised and pleased to see the Corsair, there can't be many of them still alive! And, BTW, what is lurking beneath the bonnet of the burgundy Mk 1 Cortina with the supercharger air intake poking out of it (in the background behind the black Mustang)!
  5. South Woodham Ferrers today. Going other way to me while driving, so didn't catch the reg year, but Triumph Stag; top down, in Burgundy, I'd call it, sort of darkish red. Looked very neat and tidy.
  6. Aha - one of those. Sometimes see them for sale on Autotrader or EBay as simply ridiculous sums. No way am I doing that to mine. I think it looks good as it is!
  7. As keefr22 twigged, wedding day! Also, West Ham won - nothing since, though, 41 year on! It was a small wedding, so we ended up watching it. My wife is an Essex girl (but not that sort), which may explain.
  8. And can still be found on classic rallies and hill climbs; they look remarkably good. Just remember to give it a good slug of negative camber on the rears!
  9. How the hell did you know that!
  10. Can't think why I would, I'm Scots! But I do know who won the FA cup on 10 May 1980 - ask me why!
  11. Yes, truly weird! VRG 867 - Mk1 Cortina GT 2 door, ex club rally. CMH 899A - Mk1 Lotus Cortina, leaf spring rear. Both in my ownership dating from early/mid '70s.
  12. Thanks for that. This one seems to just be badged SRT. It's only round the corner, I'll go and have another look sometime. DVLA says first registered 2015; don't know if it's LHD or RHD (or were they ever built RHD?)
  13. More leg stretching around town before the rain starts again. Audi R8 in metallic blue. Seemed to be at or around the 30 limit, but high on the revs and popping and banging a bit, so likely 2nd gear and overrun. Parked (or more correctly, squeezed) in a local house driveway, a Dodge SRT (don't think it's a 10, even though that's what DVLA has it listed as; it's not a pickup!), big, black and brutal looking.
  14. I think what's interesting about that picture is that the front wing is dented, but the flare isn't, so maybe they were on and off. Or...the dent has pushed the wheel arch in to the point where the wheel would be exposed and would throw muck up, so maybe the flares went on then?
  15. Ah, memories! KES707F, 1300GT, white with faded blue side stripe; spent most of its time with me on 13" wheels. Lovely model, BTW
  16. I really like that, love the "Complet" sign. You wouldn't want to drive one of those round St. Denis now!
  17. Whilst testing my legs by cycling laps of Chelmer Village: Lap 3 - 1972 Rover 2000TC in brown, sounded and looked very nice. Lap 4 - 'G' reg red Quattro coupe. Sounded like it should, quite high on the rev band, but did smell a bit "hot oily".
  18. Based on personal experience, and until UK changes the rules, if you keep the total order value under £135, then no VAT! I'm tempted every time I see a bike kit!!
  19. Tiger: Gorgeous car in gorgeous nick. Had a Series 3 Alpine once, but this is different!!!
  20. I remember building one or two from AMT kits somewhere around 50 odd years ago! I had a lot of AMT kits then.
  21. On a driveway just up the road, "D" reg ('87) Merc coupe (does the age make it a 300SL), looking very tidy in black.
  22. Of course, as we all know, there's a lot of linking between that and a deLorean!
  23. Aha. I had a boss years back who had one of these. If ever a car didn't fit with the character of the owner, this is it! I very much doubt he'll read this, but he was a software section manager and his other (main) interest in life was ice skating, often to be seen pirouetting around the local ice rink, pretty good at it. His was "W" reg, don't know which variant that would be. First time we saw him get into in in the car park, we all did a double take! That one looks neat and tidy!
