I know you can get 355 "conversions", but I didn't know you could get a Dino - tempting, but not enough, I'll keep her the way she is!

Oh so True!!

A real one!

Having just looked at mine (real one, not model!), Yes, front arch is a tad high, but so is the trim line. Sighting along mine, on 15" wheels, it pretty much lines up with the top of the rim. Looking more closely at the model, there would seem to be some curiosities. The box seems to show the Rev 3 onwards, small wrap around rear wing, whereas the model has the Rev 2 fuller wraparound; also the model has Rev 3 rear lights (the rounder ones), but, using the reg plate, the original should have the square ones. The original was clearly a non-turbo import (depressed louvres on engine cover, square number plates). Oh, and the front driving lamps look a bit big. This is all getting a bit anal, isn't it? Having said that, mine is on its way (model, not real one) and, if I'm going to try to represent mine, then I've got to model square real lights somehow (I prefer them, anyway) and...pause for breath...T-bar roof panels - now that could be fun!

Many, many thanks, order placed. I'll have to do something with the rear spoiler to get it as a Rev 2, but we all need a bit of fun, don't we!

Clearly, I'm shorter than you...that said, I'm shorter than quite a few people. I've got to get one, haven't I, only Hiroboy have it listed as "out of stock"...will it ever be back in stock; anyway, I've requested a notification. BTW, '93 Mk2 Rev2, UK spec, i.e. n/a, 96K, no rust...love it to bits.

Just catching up on this after a few days and I have to say I'm totally impressed. However... "As I've not been doing this modelling business for long, I haven't got many spare bits to rummage through. This is my entire mini hoard:" - 'not many'??

Lovely paint job. Just to show how my perverse mind works - how many illegal immigrants could you get in the boot (trunk) of one of those? -
This is all going to be VERY interesting! Crack on, as they say, or, as my old driving instructor said "make progress"!

Well, yes, but when? I've had one on pre-order since August! Not such a hassle, I've got the Lola to address first! -
K reg; bright yellow with black vinyl roof!

Little follow on about the French trip. Came back by the Route Napoleon, including, of course, many hills. OK until we got to Chatillon sur Seine for an overnight when I heard a distinct grating sound from the brakes...oh, oh!. Jacked it up, front pads out...knackered. Pads for an Avenger in semi-rural France? His face lit up and he pointed me to the local Ford dealer. Rushed round, guy was closing up, but sorted me out with a set without any grumping. Phew!. Fitted ready for next morning. 1980 that was!

What CAR/BIKE kits have you recently bought 2?
MR2Don replied to shood23's topic in Vehicle Discussion
Sort of side issue, but somebody may like to comment. Just acquired an original Tamiya 1/12 Lola 70. Lovely car, always liked them, so we'll see where we get to. However...when this kit was new (1970), other than standing next to one, you'd have little option but to follow the instructions, especially ref colours. Now, of course, we have GOOGLE!! I spend more time raking around said site checking numerous images in order to "get it right". Various things have come to light, such as - why has it got a large chrome plated mid-section to the distributor build? Answer would seem to be that it's based on a magneto ignited version (hence no alternator or coil), but...the middle section would most likely not be chrome, maybe red. Seem my point? Oh, and of course, I haven't seen a single image with the plug leads coming out the back of the distributor, but that's fixable. BTW, if anybody really wants to complain, I have this terrible urge to paint it in Gulf colours! Yes, I know JW never went near Lolas, but it is a very fetching colour scheme, isn't it!! And, there's a guy in Portugal who hillclimbs one in Gulf colours. -
Waiting for the result. Memories: 1980, driving on back roads south from Calais, saw one of those slightly off-road, with a big sign "Frites". Wife went to check it out as we were getting peckish and came straight back as the vendor had a huge great blood stained bandage round one hand! Rural France for you! BTW we went from Essex to the backlands of Cannes and back in my 1972 Avenger GT!!

Wowee!! Not only the build, but the photos. You could probably put them on carandclassic.co.uk and sell the thing. Extremely well done. RESPECT!!!

Aha, T Cut. I've wondered about using it to polish out any orange peel, be interested in how you get on with it.

Yesterday (Thursday) in Church Road, Boreham, crossing the river, lovely red E-Type Coupe, '65 reg. As I was on foot, picked up the glorious sound as it accelerated away. I think it had a trade plate on the rear.

Aw, this is getting beyond a joke. You're so close to having me throwing everything I've got up against the wall and going off in a huff! The front suspension is what did it, those joints!!!!! Absolutely brilliant. -
Tamiya 1/12 scale Martini Porsche 935 Build
MR2Don replied to Peter Milgate's topic in Work In Progress - Vehicles
The Big Scale Tamiyas are interesting with respect to the number of re-issues. I've got 12003 Porsche 910, which was redone three times and ended up as 12041. The 934RSR has been re-issued now, including this year, three times and I'm expecting the latest version, 12055, "sometime soon". Most of the re-issue changes seem to be around introduction of PE parts. They're challenging beasts, but enjoyable - I think. The body moulds on 12003 are dated 1968!- 94 replies
