Outskirts of Clacton today; 'R' reg Stag in British Racing Green, top down. Going the other way from us but, from the glance I got at it, looked in pretty good nick.
-
Hmm, yes, but I'm more interested in the Alpine behind it; soft top with roll bar! Looks very nice. Used to have a Series 3 hardtop years and years ago! Yet another that, given the passage of time, I should have kept.

Brilliant! Yes, health and safety possibly worse than a Leicester sweat shop, but I did like the leak test - flood it with water and sit inside with a torch! What I'd like to know, though, is what happened to any that did leak? Were they sold anyway?

Oh, yes, it must! -
Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 934 Jagermeister

Aha, a thought I have have on other builds. If you accurately scale these leads, you're looking at 1/2" thick or more plug leads! You could maybe get away with them on the 934, but if you think of a Carrera 10 or even a Lola T70, they look ridiculous. It took a lot of experimenting, but I eventually ended up using 0.6mm solder wire for both my Carrera 10 and the Lola - reasons? Any other sort of equivalent wire, for example garden wire or even aluminium wire, wouldn't flex enough to follow required paths. If you consider the Carrera 10 with a 12 point distributor, two plugs per pot and the entire left bank leads going across the fan shroud to get to the dizzie, you see the issue. Don't know yet what I'll do on my 934 (long time yet before that starts, house move comes first!!), but maybe something similar. BTW, that's one of my big frustrations just now; I've been watching you and kpnuts progressing nicely and getting quite jealous. All I can do is open the box, check the instructions, check the sprues and say "Ah, so that's how it goes"! Crack on, keep me motivated!! -
Not only one Bug, but two. You mean there are really still two Bugs alive! Love the Ginetta G15, nice looking car. A classic car meet near here a while back (September '18) had one, same colour, maybe even same car. It is! Just found the photo of the one that was here and the plate matches!

Aw, that hand spoils it! Brilliant build! That steering wheel in particular, real wood effect. -
And made "famous" by Detectorists! I've since lost the photo, but I had one taken on the Scottish Rally (1980 I think) and it might have been Roger Clark, not sure it was Tony Pond.

While walking today, Triumph Spitfire; soft top, hood down, red, 'M' reg. Looked and sounded very nice.

Little bit of a haul today. A Fiat 135 soft top, hood down and moving, looked OK. And three Moggy Minors: a green van that is used as a publicity hoarding for a garage reasonably near me but is well presented, no reason to beleive they don't drive it around; a similar green saloon, but looking a bit mothy and a very nice looking blue Countryman with all the ash in place, 'J' suffix which I think would make it '70/'71.

Just had to have a follow-up chuckle. So many posts here discuss the various techniques used to present an immaculate paint finish - this one is the exact opposite!
-
Hmm, like it, brilliant weathering, but it's disgusting that somebody would let a "B" get into that state!

Lovely, John. If you've got the money, there's a real one for sale not that far from here. Been there quite a while and the best I can say is it's price has gone up by over £20k in the time it's been there. 1300 engine, built by FASA in Spain in 1971! Needless to say, I haven't got that money or I would have had it by now. Not many things could replace my dear old MR2, but one of those, slightly shorter, slightly narrower, a bit lower and half the weight (!!) might just do.
-
Agreed. All of the A110 kits do this, but, as you say, is it really worth it? If you paint it all suspension and engine underside details is hidden, if you don't, that detail can't be seen clearly because of the "frosting" on the clear parts. I'm with you, I'll leave them off.

One of those in 1/24 would be a challenge!
-
Good hint, thanks.

1966 reg red Volvo Amazon estate, slightly tired looking. Didn't have the cheek to try to see its speedo, see how many million miles it had done!
-
Lovely car, lovely model!

Looks like a candidate for a major refurb and a 3 litre flat six in the back!

Tamiya 1/24 Nissan Skyline GT-R33

This could be a new topic thread - Spot the Difference. Modellers put up images of finished models like yours and of the actual car and we have to guess which is which. With yours, I think that would be a very hard job. Absolutely excellent! -
That looks like a lot of, ahem..."fun". You've got to do it, haven't you. Meet the challenge, as they say! Move house even, to accommodate it! I'm keeping a wary eye open.
-
I'll try to get a photo next time I'm over there. As I said, it doesn't move much!
-
This might be considered on the boring side, but a Honda CR-X Del Sol, 1993 (K) vintage. Red going on pink (you know what I mean!) and lives next door to my son's new house. A pretty similar reg to my MR2. Young guy owns it, it doesn't move much but it is MoTd. I think they're quite "pretty" little cars, but don't know a lot about their reliability, etc. I've spoken to the owner once, mentioned I had a MR2 Mk2 and he seemed impressed!
-
Whats' wrong with that! Did it have straw and chicken feathers inside? not a proper 2CV unless it has!

Modern Mustangs - yuk!; Stag - Nice!
