  1. I like that, I like that a lot.

    Now...hmmm...the complete set of Edinburgh Corporation double deckers of the mid '60s - spent a lot of time on them. Not sure of the body builders, but they had Leyland, Guy and Daimler chassis and they all looked different. Very partisan livery as they were painted in Hearts colours!

  2. Hope you don't mind, but I'm posting this here as it's a thread visited by all of the 1/12 934 builders.

    Below is an image of the rear screen on mine, taped in place so I could check the fit and position of the engine cover with an eye to plumbing a couple of hoses into the oil cooler.

    Suddenly I noticed that very fine line in the moulding, running from top to bottom, it can just be seen next to where the light is reflected.

    I've felt it very carefully and I can't detect which surface it's on. It's a bit like a reverse mould line on an aircraft windscreen, but much finer.

    I've got the tools to remove such mould lines and have done it on such as an SU-27, but this is different! This isn't a 1/48 canopy, this is a big bit of glazing and I'm seriously worried about creating a massive FU if I try. Front screen is the same, BTW.

    Any advice, please?

    WRT to Ladas, back in my day we had the Wartburgs from the East. Very amusing at stage starts as they would switch the two strokes off to stop them oiling, then turn them on when the marshall held up the "five to go" fingers - and off they went, with a sort of slowly increasing ping, ping, ping sound! Such fun. Of course, they managed class wins, mainly because the crew could roll it, get out, lift it back on its wheels and carry on as if nothing had happened.

    Mind you, main excitement back then was my first works A110 in the Scottish borders, maybe Cardrona; into hairpins almost backwards, scrabble for grip and away - breathtaking.

    If this works (I'm never sure how to do it with Flickr), here's my Avenger outside my sister's then house up in the hills near Tourette sur Loup, after an "interesting" journey of some  900+ miles in 2 days (no Autoroute). Oh, and BTW, I don't look like that any longer (who said "Hooray!)

    Last time I saw one was in Faro two years ago, it lived (with little sign of moving) in the street where we'd rented an apartment. Bright green in colour it looked good from a reasonable distance, but I took a close look one day and - blimey! the rust patches all over it! Shame, really.

  7. Well! An MR2 Mk2, or should I say another Mk2 as I don't class mine as "spot of the day"!

    Hatfield Broad Oak, parked at the side, red, Rev1 as 'J' reg and 14" wheels. Nice to see one at all, I can drive miles and never see one.

    More interesting, but I'd need a much longer look than just driving past - a yellow coloured, well past its best something. Lots of bits missing, but sports car style. I thought it might have been a Jensen Healey but looking a Wikipedia photos, I'm not at all sure. I'd need to revisit, it was sitting in somebody's front yard.

    Well, interesting.

    I've got the Fujimi MR2 Mk2 kit and also a trio of A110s. Sitting the Tamiya A110 body shell next to the MR2, it is smaller than I thought; noticeably shorter, narrower and much lower. Maybe a photo to follow to show.
