  1. MQ-1 Predator UAV. Fictionalized "covert" markings - only national insignia Scale Aircraft Conversions white metal landing gear (A must have for this kit. I had made it before, and the kit legs are far too fragile), Eduard Remove Before Flight tags, homemade aluminum foil propeller coverings, Hellfire missile container, and tarmac base I finished this one a couple months ago, but finally took proper photos of it. The tarmac base is wall drywall spackle, and the desert portion is AMMO Mud. This is supposed to be a heavily used and abused covert Predator UAV. It looks over-weathered. Until you see pictures of USAF UAVs in the desert!
  2. Cheers for that! I always struggle building up thinned Tamiya Smoke. How much is too much? How much will give it too high of a gloss sheen? This one felt remotely right at least! This was my first Montex Mask and it was pretty cool to use. You really have to nail your paint mixture to ensure you don't get seepage, especially with those very thin roundel portions. Having yellow in there was... tense. I still need to work on keeping my transparencies clear. Might need a 2nd Future dunk as I move forward with more kits.
  3. Spitfire IX c of GR 2/33 Savoie, French Air Force, Stuttgart, Germany. May 1945 Eduard 1/48 kit with Montex Masks and Eduard Brassin gun bay
  4. Excellent video, cheers for the suggestion!
  5. Ahh, yep, I'll wager I went too heavy. Hadn't seen the pinhole happen before (I'm far more used to spraying anything but Mig, to be honest.) I had a light grey primer on there first, neglected to mention that, which was a terrible choice, since seeing my coverage was difficult. How should I best clean it up? just a light sand and re-apply, or go whole on strip?
  6. I'm using a single action Badger 200 airbrush. Paint is Mig's Light Compass Grey, with a few drops of Mig acrylic thinner in it. Surface is cleaned and prepped, but no primer. Got great coverage for the first bit. Then... well, this happened
  7. He actually was one of those birds with a front-row seat to the Lebanon conflict - apparently sitting on-station over the Med and just seeing the AA, jets, and countermeasures creating a panorama of chaos and color.
  8. This is perfect. My mentor was with VA-176 (pictured), and I want to finally make a tribute.
  9. Wow, Dennis, cheers for the identification!
  10. Is anyone able to identify the bomb loadout here? They resemble Mk 82s, but the snub nose with no fuse is throwing me for a loop
