Not sure what to make of it, but MN Modelar has very recently received a re-stock of most KH 1/35 helos, 1/32 Sabre as well as some of the 1/48 kits, including the Twogar, Seasprite, Flankers and Etendard IV. Just FYI

Revell 1/32 Spitfire IXe, Danish Air Force
Phantom726 replied to Drakendk's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
AFAIK the issue is that - depending on your individual settings - you may not be able to view images from a non-secure environment in your browser (http vs. https). Right-click on each "spacer.png" icon and select "Open in new tab". This should allow you to view the pictures in individual tabs.- 12 replies

RDAF F-16s - A question on 'tail feathers'
Phantom726 replied to Tiger331's topic in Aircraft Modern
Steve, You're absolutely right: Only the block 15 aircraft carry targeting pods in RDAF service. IIRC, the block 10 birds lack the station 5B attachment points on the right-hand side of the intake. Not sure if that's a common fleet thing or a Danish thing only, though. -
Interesting picture!! Source: https://twitter.com/oryxspioenkop/status/1688190151527202817/photo/1

To my eye that looks like a 3D printed fuselage part rather than an injection moulded piece. I'm guessing it's used during development to fix obvious errors? Looking at the their SU-33 fuselage details I have little doubt that Minibase will nail this one once we see the final product.

REQ: Spanish Air Force Mirage IIIEE colour scheme
Phantom726 replied to Phantom726's topic in Aircraft Modern
Exdraken, Thanks again. Pantherhawk, I'd very much appreciate further details on said book if it's not too much trouble. Re. the very blue-ish grey showing in most scanned pictures, I've got a feeling that it could be due to the slide film used at the time. But that's just my personal opinion. Exdraken, Thanks! 🙂 Des, Thanks anyway for your input. -
REQ: Spanish Air Force Mirage IIIEE colour scheme
Phantom726 replied to Phantom726's topic in Aircraft Modern
exdraken, I'd highly appreciate if you could look up the colour suggestions. I need something to start from other that old photos, 🙂 And yes, the Academy kit is a beast - much worse than the Kinetic. I fully appreciate that the latter is the best bid for a 1/48 Mirage IIIE - no doubt about that, but it's still a pain in the b... in regards to fit, instructions a.s.o. Decals, however, look superb as always from Kinetic. 🙂 -
Hi all I'm currently preparing the absolutely horrendous Kinetic Mirage IIIE for the paint job and will be aiming for a mid-80's scheme of a Spanish bird using the decals supplied with the kit. As far as I can tell, the Spanish Mirages wore the same colours as the French versions but I can't seem to find any reliable sources regarding the exact shades. Kinetic gives Humbrol 87 and 30. Some sources also calls for FS34056-ish and 36480-ish while others suggest RAF Dark Green-ish and Dark Sea Grey-ish. I'll be aiming for a rather weathered and sun-bleached look which gives me some leeway to work with, yet I'd still like to get it as accurate as possible. So does anyone among the BM-crew happen to know the official colour call outs for the Spanish birds? Thanks

I'd suggest Tamiya Paint Remover. https://www.tamiya.com/english/products/87183/index.htm

Hi Craig, You're quite welcome. Just for your information, Lima November Decals have done decals for the RDAF C-130H grey scheme in both 1/72 and 1/48 and they have decals coming up for the green/dayglo scheme as well. https://lndecals.dk/rdaf-c-130-new-scheme/ https://lndecals.dk/rdaf-c-130h-old-schemes-2/ Regards Bjarne

Craig, The current fleet of C-130J's is painted in FS26132 if I recall correctly. The general consensus here in Denmark is that the C-130H was painted in the same color although it weathered quite heavily on certain parts of the fuselage. If you head over to airliners.net and search for C-130H and Denmark - Ar Force you will get some good photos including one showing the two types in formation. I'll also PM the links to you as I am not sure whether or not I can link to Airliners.net images in this open post. Rgds Bjarne

I see that the kit number for the Meteor announced today is A09182A while the original Meteor had kit number A09182 and the Korea boxing number A09185. Would this indicate that it's just a reissue of the the original kit with no changes to the content of the box other than decals maybe?

I usually paint the small bit'n'pieces separately and attach them using CA/Super glue as the final part of the build. Unlike normal liquid cement, super glue will not melt the paint. On the downside, the bond between the parts is usually somewhat weaker, as the bond is paint on paint vs. plastic actually being melted together. I'm building mine wheels down with a full ordnance load by the way, If you go ahead and google "Meng F/A-18 build" you'll find a lot of great videos and build reports that you may find useful. You can also find a lot of great references here: http://www.primeportal.net/the_airstrip.htm https://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft/fa-18/fa-18_all.shtml

I'm building the F-version and encountered the same issue. The reason is that the inside half of the hole has a smaller diameter than the outside part. Drill out the hole with a drill the same diameter as the pylon peg. That should solve the attachment issue . However, you will most likely find that the fuselage to pylon fit is pretty bad once you move on...... HTH

1/32 - F-5E/N and F-5F by Storm Factory
Phantom726 replied to Phantom726's topic in The Rumourmonger
Good calls regarding the reputation of Model Airplane Depot. I just did a couple of Google searches on various version of Storm Factory + 1/32 + F-5 and absolutely nothing turned up; No company website, no Facebook page, no images, no nothing. So caution is very much advised if anyone is considering putting in a pre-order. -
What a beautiful collection of models!

Haven't seen these mentioned before. Possibly reboxings of the Kittyhawk kits? https://modelairplanedepot.com/collections/storm-factory?fbclid=IwAR0JF2BXB1Kbd0tXGTaHryY-gEDCfkan2rhlQrAxPyaVkv0lVDA7_J2_r2c
