  1. Hello all, My name is John and I am thrilled to be joining the Britmodeller forum as I am a humongous Anglophile in my WWII interests of armor and aviation. While I started modeling with my dad (My first kit was almost certainly a 1/72 Albatros D.V.), I built models up till I went to college (I was mainly building 1/48 scale aircraft and 1/35 scale armor). I only picked it back up when I started a new job at a "known aviation museum" in the DC area when I found a fellow modeler who encouraged me to come back to the hobby. Living in a smaller apartment and now house, I have converted to building almost exclusively in 1/72. I finished my contact work a few years ago and am now a Middle School French and Computer Science teacher. I'm also a new dad so that is taking up some of my previously free time. I wanted to be a part of the Britmodelers forum not only because I have been searching it for years for research and builds, but my largest passions are British and Commonwealth subjects, followed closely by Free French and US Marine Corps subjects during WWII. The Fleet Air Arm, Coastal Command, and Bomber Command (with a few quintessential Fighter Command models) dominates my stash. I do research into the WWI French Army so I do have a few kits in the works surrounding that. When the time is right and I have a larger display area, I have a few 1/32 WWI biplane kits that will also end up on my work bench. The remainder of my kits are a few random ship and 1/48 scale kits lingering from my pre-college days. I really look forward to being a part of this great forum. I'm hoping to have a few things worth sharing before too long on the forum. If you find yourself in the DC area on the first Wednesday of any month and care to pay the NOVA IPMS club a visit, please let me know and I will be happy to help with logistics. ~John~
