Carrera Revell Consolidated B-24D Liberator (03831) 1:48

Thanks, I like him too. You can't see it in the pictures but I left the port vertical stabilizer glossy like he had just washed it. The markings looked too nice to dirty up. -
Carrera Revell Consolidated B-24D Liberator (03831) 1:48
PolarisPrime replied to Mike's topic in Kits
I built this kit a few years ago in the markings of an aircraft that a friends dad flew in WWII. It was a beast to build, correct and update with detail sets and scratch building. The results were pretty good, but if there is ever a new tool kit out I am going to do it again. I have the 1/32 Hobby Boss kit on the shelf which is both awesome and crappy. It's like Hobby Boss started with good intentions and then got bored. Anyway, here is a link to my web site and some pics. Don't laugh at the web site, I only threw it together so I could show my brother in Canada my work. http://bruce.smart-site.net/Models/B-24J/index.htm -
Thanks grahm - you just cant see the weathering on the flight deck in the pictures. It is much more apparent in real life. You may be right about the Jack generally, but I put it there because it was there in one of my reference pictures. I don't know all of the Royal Navy rules about where they fly the different flags though.

Chewbacca nad ejboyd - than you very much. Yes, you may assume that the string bag is launching unassisted into the wind. I was trying to capture the look of a clip I saw years ago of a Swordfish kind of angling across the deck a bit as it took off. That's why it's a little to port and slightly askew of the center line.

Excellent work.

I have been using Microsoft One Drive. It is probably more reliable than Facebook for liking to pictures. Facebook can change their links any time they want. Microsoft should be a little more stable

1/350 Hasegawa Akagi Dec 7th 1941 first wave
PolarisPrime replied to Bitzer's topic in Ready for Inspection - Maritime
Thanks. I plan on posting pictures of it here... some day. Your Akagi was definitely one of my favorite models at the show. Did you use all of the Hasegawa add-ons? EDIT - Never mind - I just went back and read your original post -

I don't think I am going to Boise this year. It's almost 7 hours for me to drive. I was there a couple of years ago with my Prince of Wales model if you remember that. -

Hey Bitzer, I was just going through my pictures from Nationals and what do you know - I have a picture of your ship on the tables. Excellent job. One of my favorite ships from the show. Why didn't you enter your model in 350 scale carriers? I was all alone over there. You aren't from Moscow, ID are you? We may have met before in Boise. -
Beautiful Build. Well done.

A quick update. IPMS Nationals were in Las Vegas last weekend and it was a fantastic show. There were about 2700 models entered - a bit less than usual - and they were almost all outstanding. I took my Ark Royal to the contest and entered it in the 350 scale aircraft carrier category and believe it or not... I WON!!! Here is a picture of my model and all of the competition... 😐 I could have picked up a rock in the parking lot, called it a carrier and won... Blah!!! Other than that the contest was awesome. And I did get a ton of nice comments about the ship.

Holy Moley Crisp!!! I am off the board for a while while we moved and when I come back I see nothing but carnage. That is one of my most feared injuries ever. Plus I saw no progress on the Ark Royal... Get better soon mate and quit having accidents.

Really nice work Moarein. Just one problem, it seems that all of the pictures you posted prior to yesterday aren't loading. It would be a shame to no be able to review your progress.

I built the Revel one years ago when it first came out. Compared to that I won't even notice anything like a "short coming" on this kit -

Really great build. Can't wait to start mine. How did you get it done so fast. I am still just admiring the sprues in my box. -

Really excellent build. And what an interesting camouflage scheme. Definitely not what you usually see. -
Really great looking build Crisp. Unlike Ark Royal you are doing this before me, so I am going to shamelessly use your build thread to inform my own build. Are the PE seat belts really easier than the HPH ones? I have done the HPH belts before and they are indeed a pain, but I have avoided the Eduard ones because I have always assumed they would be harder. What I really like is a nice after market seat with molded on seat belts. It feels appropriate to comment on this thread today as I sit here eating my imported Cadbury Chocolate. 😋

Excellent build. That kit has many hours of fine detail work to really make it shine and you have done a great job.
