  1. I may sound a bit of a cave man but I often use Wilko's own matt and gloss varnishes thinned down with water and a bit of flo' aid. I use a 0.4 needle on the airbrush and use lots of thin coats and it seems to go down nice. I do give the airbrush a good clean out straight after.
  2. I've used the tool in question but although it is useful for rough cuts I found the adjustable angle guide to be a few degrees out so all the cuts were off .
  3. I have never used the applicator either. I usually use Tamiya Paint Stirrers to apply it in small amounts
  4. As mentioned above I find multiple thin, light coats best with acrylics. I can remember doing 12 coats on one wooden model I made. That was on top of 3 layers of primer and light sanding in between. It's worth the effort to get a nice finish.
  5. I too use ZipKicker when needed. As mentioned by others I use an old cheap paintbrush to apply it. It does stink the room out so it's used very sparingly 😷
  6. I have an old battery model dremel that has been great for light work especially models and a heavier mains unit that chews through everything that I've used it on so far. They don't go slow as such as they need the RPM to work as they don't have a lot of torque. Most of the time though I use a Tamiya 74041 Mini Electric Drill. You build it yourself and it runs off 2 x AA batteries but it's great for just drilling small holes free hand. Proxxon TBM 220 Bench Drill is a very handy bench top drill for accurate work.
