  1. I simply can't wait to see the finished result on this one Andy! Good luck with the studio build too. All the best, Jon
  2. Hi all, For the Hunter experts out there, I'm planning to do this in 1/32 using the Fisher T.7 cockpit conversion. Any advice on where I could obtain the roundels etc? Any other advice building this jet in the black scheme I saw at Alconbury in 1991, also appreciated. Cheers, Jon
  3. I too love the camo scheme. Phew, it brings all those memories flooding back when I first bought the Airfix kit with that gorgeous box art. Really great refinish job there!
  4. Lovely work John. I've always loved the Corsair wing shape. Funny how I remember every one I built as a kid. Keep us posted on your progress, can't wait for more. Jon
  5. Very nice work indeed. I've just ordered myself a Fisher T.7 conversion after seeing this build! Can't wait to see the finished article. Jon
  6. All, Anyone got the new Trumpy 1/32 F-14B yet? I sold off my Tamiya 1/32 Tomcat in order to make room for the Trumpy F-14B instead. (Hope I wasn't foolish). Any comments on the Trumpy kit much appreciated. Ta, Jon
  7. Fantastic pictures! Jeez I really miss the A-10's since they left Alconbury.. Jon
  8. Apart from seven massive PAL boxes tightly packed to capacity.. I have:- 1) Randy Cooper Star Wars Sandcrawler complete with lights. (Now detailing the exterior) 2) Anigrand Craftsworks 1/72 (Yes it's HUGE!) C-5B Galaxy (Cockpit is done and going in next) 3) 1/48 Airfix Lightning - Using Aeroclub T5 Lightning conversion. (Lost interest - waiting for Whirlybirds 1/32 conversion - Anyone got one?) 4) A rubbed down 1/144 Testors C-5B Galaxy ready for new paint and Draw decals to be applied. That's it I think.. Jon
  9. Hi there, I've got the AFV Club 1:48 F-5E (ROCAF) Tiger II Kit (AR48S01), and would really like to convert this to the Alconbury scheme. (I've got both sets of the Alconbury 'Gomers' decals BTW) After doing a bit of studying, I see that there appears to be one sprue different from the other (impossible to find) AFV Club F-5E Tiger II release. The different parts appear to involve the shark nose, and leading wing extensions. Any chance I can gently doctor these parts to represent an Alconbury jet? I'm not much of an F-5E expert, but any advice would be much appreciated. (Note I've enjoyed seeing the F-5 builds on this site, they are gorgeous!) Thanks in advance! Jon
  10. Well, my wife and I jumped in the car today and off to Cosford we went. Some hours later, there we were staring at the big beautiful white bird - XD818. What a magnificent sight! "Thank goodness for the Airfix release!" I cried. "What's that?" said the wife. "Nothing" I replied. Keep up the good work general. Can't wait to see the finished result. Jon
  11. Hey thanks for your help guys, and they are gorgeous pictures Gary! Jon
  12. All, Do you know it's been an age since my wife and I went to Mildenhall, and like many of you, miss the airshow soooo much! Is there still a spotters area we can drive to and park up to see something flying? Or maybe due to current events, it's not worth going as things are quiet there? We live about forty minutes away, but would gladly travel there if they are busy certain days of the week. Any advice much appreciated. Note. Sorry for using the 'spotters' word, 'enthusiasts' would be more appropriate. Cheers! Jon
