  1. Excellent work. This is a bit different from most of the others being built, including mine, so I will watch your build with interest. It's a pity that the Sword kit is not available currently I'm regretting not getting one a few years back.Anyway good luck with you build. cheers Allan
  2. Good work so far. I'm doing the same kit and it is indeed a gem. Allan
  3. Jimmy that is the one. There are a couple of different boxings with different decals but the plastic is the same I'm sure. Cheers Allan
  4. Managed a wee bit more modeling tonight. Continues tot be a fun build with only the insert for the guns not fitting great but I've seen worse and should tidy up easy enough. Anyways here some pics. Cheers Allan
  5. Jimmy the Revell P-47m has the drop tanks you're looking for. It's a excuse to buy another kit if you don't have it. Cheers Allan
  6. I realised I've not really set what I was going to do with this build. as the title says it's Hun Hunter XIV,decals are from Rising decals Thunderbolts over Corsica. I've never used Rising Decals so I hope they are ok to work with. Otherwise it's OOB with Eduard superfabric seatbelts and the canopy mask. The seatbelts are far easier to use than etch ones (for me anyway) and I always use a mask if they are available, saves a lot of time for me. Cheers Allan
  7. Thanks Jimmy. Once you get going you won't be disappointed it is a dream to build. Enjoy.
  8. Evening all. Got started on the above mentioned P-47 after spending ages deciding which one to do. I couldn't decide on razorback or bubbletop and then having decided on the razorback I had no clue as to which one I would do. Too much choice is not a good thing. Anyways I got started yesterday and made swift progress, this has to be the best fitting kit I have built. Every part just fits like it should, it's a joy to build (so far). This my first GB and it's fun so far. It's a good way to motivate me to keep making progress with the build. Here are some pics of the build so far. Today I got the wings together and glued on to the fuselage but no pics of that yet. The next few days are kind of busy so I don't think I'll get any more done this week unfortunately. Cheers Allan
  9. Wow! Yes I do like these Skyraiders. Superb. I recently got a hasegawa 1/72 Skyraiders and it will hopefully be done this year. I think I'll bookmark this page for inspiration. Cheers Allan
  10. Nice one Dmitry. I've saved some pics as inspiration for when I get round to building mine. Are those the kit decals you used? Regards Allan
  11. I'm in for this one too. My fave ww2 German plane. I have 6 Hasegawa 1/72 and several decal sheets so I may build more than one.
  12. Thanks. The canopy is daunting but the Eduard mask is really good and fairly cheap compared to recent releases. It took little time or effort with the masks so they are worth the few pounds. Cheers Allan
  13. Afternoon everybody. Here RFI is only 2nd finished model this year. It's the revel rebox of the hasegawa He 111. This is a great kit for very little money and is highly recommended by me. This took me a while mainly due to getting freetime for modelling these days. The only area I had trouble with was the landing gear which for me was tricky. I had one disaster moment when I mistook liquid decal film for microset, it melts acrylic paint you know. After calming down for a week I managed a reasonable repaint of the damaged area. Anyways here are some pics. Cheers Allan
  14. I'm in too. Never done a GB before sounds like fun. Allan
  15. If it's not too late I'd like to join in this one too.
  16. Very nice. Love that paint scheme. Can I ask how you did it? Allan
  17. Very nice. Love the markings very unusual. Allan
  18. Very nice corsair. I've got the Tamiya one in that scheme been in the stash for 10 years ...one day. Allan
  19. Nice one Alan. I've got that kit in the box of doom, been there for years. Seeing yours makes me want to finish it as it looks great. Cheers Allan
  20. Evening all. Guys I need help. I've almost finished this and the landing gear is giving me fits. No matter how I try to fit it doesn't seem to work. Should I assemble it first and then try and fit to the well or fit each part to the well first and then join them together? Does anybody who's built it have an easy way to do this? Allan
  21. Looking good there. That splinter camo is a pain isn't it? I'm currently trying to finish the Revell He 111 but it's taking an age. Anyways nice model and one less in the stash. Allan
  22. Evening all. I'm calling this one done and taking pictures before anything falls off. This one started as a quick build which seemed to take an age, well a few weeks anyway. Built out of the box apart from quickboost gun barrels. cheers Allan
  23. Nice work there Ratch. Nice to see different markings. Can I ask who makes the decals? Cheers Allan
