  1. Used to be frowned upon once…. you don’t need to comment on EVERY post …..
  2. According to Tony O’Toole on Facebook it contains Sea Hurricane parts so another boxing in due course hopefully. Mike
  3. With regards the DR1 I suggest you look at Aviattic’s site. Mike
  4. Well he says ‘appears’. The wrecked bits were from a Hurricane in Lucas’ other title for SAM monographs dealing with the BoB. Mike
  5. In ‘Britain Alone June 40 to Dec 41’ by Paul Lucas back in 2003 the colours suggested for the Whirlwinds was BS 381 (1930) No 1 Sky Blue undersurfaces with the paler RAE Sky Blue spinners and tail band. The battered HE*V shown earlier by Troy is one of the profiles annotated as such. Later in the book when Whirlwinds wore DG/OG/MSG; the spinners and band are Sky. Mike
  6. Superb result Max, you don’t see many of these built so a refreshing change. I maybe wrong but I thought these kits were originally from Montex, like the Gamecock still being supplied by Alleycat. Mike
  7. Best XIX I’ve seen on here, great work Mark. Interesting back story as well 👍 Mike
  8. Your fight with it has been fully justified, lovely model of a very futuristic looking aeroplane in terms of shape. Mike
  9. Yes I appreciate the main spar is a major hurdle but the guys clambering into these cockpits were yet to be in a position to be sitting in a Lanc pilot’s seat. My uncle was destined for a Hamden so the folding back to the pilot seat was a priority 😊 Mike
  10. In my opinion the back story is usually the reason I model a particular aircraft, make it far more interesting. With regards the second seat I would’ve thought the seat would be stowed away on the ground and then folded down as needed during the flight. Otherwise it would just be in the way especially for the pilot when first boarding the Anson? Mike
  11. Agreed Max it’s the proverbial can of worms… Mike
  12. Another detail to note from your period photos is that the seat with the back folded down is in a later windscreen Anson whereas the simpler looking seat pad with no back(?) is in the earlier screened version? I intend building an Anson that my uncle flew in 41 whilst doing navigation training and I assume the second seat would be redundant. Excellent work so far Max 👍 Mike
  13. Raises the question as to whether the second pilot seat was actually fitted or folded away depending on the use of the Anson; be it navigation or air gunnery school for example? Also is there a definitive serial number batch from when Ansons were fitted with the later windscreen? Mike
  14. Superb results as usual Neil, particularly like the Marauder. Mike
  15. I love a Typhoon and these are particularly lovely. Great work. Mike
  16. Very sad news indeed, I seem to recall her son being in the recently aired new Warbird Workshop episode with the PR Spit. Deepest condolences to the family and friends Mike
  17. Yet another superb result Roger, amazed how you bang out such excellent results in a relatively short period! Mike
  18. Thanks Ed, yes after the Catalina set as I mentioned earlier, guess I will just have to bite the bullet 😀 Cheers Mike
  19. Thanks Colin, I was just hoping to avoid the postage ! 😁
  20. Cheers Mark, not sure how I missed that ! Unfortunately the 72nd Catalina upgrade isn’t listed which is what I’m after. Mike
