  1. Rather late to seeing this superb WIP, brilliant work so far Stephen (your Captain class frigate was phenomenal) and great to see this being built considering you don’t seem to see many completed and Trumpeter should be praised for at least producing something fairly accurate 😁 Mike
  2. Superb result CJP, and obviously given the equally excellent Alice you are a glutton for punishment ?! Mike
  3. At this rate it will be finished for Telford! 🤔😂 Mike
  4. Here’s another reference worth a look: https://www.raf-in-combat.com/downloads/squadrons-no-17-the-curtiss-mohawk/ Mike
  5. Great to see this one back on the bench Neil, I remember thinking two years ago that I need to get those AIM cowlings that Melchie highlighted and guess what… 😂 Mike
  6. Superb as usual Alistair… …one question if I may; do you feel that the mottling you did in various colours on the upper surface actually makes a difference when covered in a dark colour like EDSG? Mike.
  7. I have one of these in the stash; I hope mine eventually looks as good as yours Mike
  8. Im afraid I can’t comment, I bought the Aeroclub engines to correct the new tool Revell kit as this had better detail compared to the old Matchbox one. Mike
  9. This Revell boxing is the old Matchbox kit. The correction sets were aimed at the newer tool model. Mike
  10. Just doing some research with regards the interior colour, I assume FAA Hellcats were delivered with ANA611 green interiors (as per Sovereign guide) ? Airfix suggest Humbrol 226 for their 24th scale beast but this looks darker than other makes alluding to be 611. Any one confirm? Cheers Mike
  11. Yep slow here too with numerous something went wrong messages, took me an age to get here. Mike
  12. Hope it was cheaper than the £67 Revell are asking for this! Curious as to why cost isn’t mentioned in this review. Mike
  13. Gorgeous Tom, the wheel well boxing in was one of the very first things my dad taught me about improving models back in the day, nostalgia indeed.🙂 Mike
  14. Blimey, that is fantastic, you could climb into that cockpit! Mike
  15. I also have the Eduard 48th Dual Combo and a Frog/Hasegawa 32nd Hellcat in the stash but as I said, I wanted to try and finish it 😁. Mike
  16. Evening all, Apologies for being late to the party but life gets in the way! Being an avid FAA fan my stash is crammed with numerous possible builds (mostly 1/48th) but as others have alluded to here; they are kits that need time and effort and shedloads of aftermarket to bring them to an acceptable level. To give myself a chance of completing a model before the deadline I thought it best to buy yet another kit and returning to braille scale I decided on this…. Found this relatively cheap on the internet. Weekend edition… yeah as if 😂. Unsurprisingly the plastic looks delightful together with a very sharp decal sheet. As I have a bit of an obsession with the effort taken to sink the Tirpitz I will probably finish as an 800 or 804 Squadron Hellcat. Cheers Mike
  17. No it’s just you…my twelve year old Qashqai that cost £170 with AA last year is now apparently requiring cover costing £269 and having been on confused dot com everyone seems to think the same…. Mike
  18. One assumes that these profiles are not just made up on a whim given the scrutiny nowadays if no proof is evident and that some reference material is out there even if the colours have been misinterpreted 🤷🏼‍♂️ It would interesting to know what Hannants used to justify the decal sheet. Mike
  19. Interesting and unusual choice Roger but looking good already as ever. And I thought the Blackburn Blackburn was ugly! 😂 Mike
