  1. Yes, Farm Gate planes realy had designation SC-47. They were modified for special missions: night penetrations and supply of friendly guerrillas or Special Forces, day penetrations and drops, medical evacuations, leaflet and loudspeaker operations, and forward field operations. Planes had larger fuel tanks, hand pump to refuel from fifty-five-gallon drums, ultra high frequency (UHF), very high frequency (VHF), and high frequency (HF) radios, exhaust flame dampeners, attachments for jet-assisted takeoffs, loudspeakers, and litter supports. Later Farm Gate used also usual C-47's, that had lighter weight, than SC-47. At the pic one of SC-47. This photo in larger size you may find here: https://www.airforcemag.com/PDF/MagazineArchive/Documents/2005/December 2005/1205farmgate.pdf I would like to built the model of SC-47, but found no good photos of them.
  2. Yes! Looks like Firefly Mk.I.
  3. Boulton Paul Balliol maybe? Sorry, mistake. Intake is larger than Balliol's.
  4. It will be SLOW build. Now i collect photos, that will help me to scribe and rivet this BIG bird. So i will build something else at the time.
  5. Thanks! All these let me keep the good form, and now i will start some new builds, thanks to COVID19 (it was irony 🙂). I didn't decided yet what to build first - Korean war F4U-4 or Indochina P-63. Or maybe something BIG, like a C-119?
  6. Forgot about this Seahawk. Old MPM kit, OOB.
  7. Year ago i finished my F4U-4B and was going to start new build, but for some reasons didn't built any planed kit. But during this year i still put some models on my shelf, Here they are. Hasegawa F-8E. I built it in 1998, but some years later model fell from shelf. Now i found it and restored. Academy F6F-5. Built OOB. NOVO/FROG F8F. Built in early nineties, few times disassembled and repainted. I found it as a pile of debris and restored. Decal from Printscale. Three HobbyBoss easy-kits. My six year old son became interesting in models, and we built these ones together. He assembled kits with some my help, painted interiors and wheel wells by brush, primed by Tamiya aerosole primer and painted by Tamiya aerosole paints. I painted Wildcat.
  8. Yep! So on my custom decal will be numbers from 1 to 10 for lower wing surface and from 1 to 5 for LH pylons 🙂
  9. I thought about it too, but here we can't see any numbers And on other known photos too.
  10. I found these photos in french book "Les ailes de gloire de l'aeronautique navale № 12 - F4U-7&AU-1". Numbers of pylons are on lower part of wing near the pylons. And it seems like numbers on pylons were added by personal in field. By why only at left side and not at all planes? Some AU-1 photos here: https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Corsair/VMF212.html and i don't see any numbers on their pylons.
  11. Hello everybody. I'm going to begin new build - duet of Indochine Corsairs, AU-1 from 14F and F4U-7 from 12F. I'm gonna order custom decal for them, and while studying subject, i found these photo. Pylons on left wing of these planes are numbered from 1 to 5. Were ones on right wings numbered from 1 to 5 too or from 6 to 10? Some photos do not show numbers on right ones:
  12. Nice! I hope, decal will include variant for Operation Firedog. Valom, if you read this! I wait for 1/72 P4M-1Q Mercator and AJ-1P Savage from you! And maybe AVRO Lincoln?
  13. I watched it too, and interior seemed green to me. So i used Interior Green to paint cockpit of my YB-49. Anyway, almost nothing will be seen on ready model. YB-49 may be seen in 1953 movie The War of the Worlds: https://ok.ru/video/37985979049
  14. I'm going to build this kit too, so i will look carefully
  15. Posted images are not displayed in any threads. Only thin grey lines at place of images.
  16. Look here, it may be useful for you: https://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft/f-101/f-101_profile02.shtml
  17. Hi, Quang I use Tamiya acryl paints XF series. They are easy to use and result is good enough even if your skill level is not very high. But some colors are not available in this series, so you have to mix them. Also AS sprays are good enough. For SEA camouflage you may use AS13, AS14, AS15 and AS16. Filters and pigments will help to imitate fading - i use Wilder's Light Gray filter and Desert Sand pigment.
  18. MPM RAAF Meteor F. Mk.8 will be built later, after Hobbyboss F9F-2, Italeri YB-49 and Trumpeter Lightning. And RAAF F-51D will be too.
  19. Patricia Lynn deployment from April 1963 Project Field Goal from April 1961 First RF-101 deployment to South Vietnam (Pipe Stem) - October 1961
  20. One of the first US reconaissance planes in SEA was Project Field Goal RT-33. I bought Sword kit to build it as Field Goal. Obviously, decal depicts this plane: I'm not sure, that this is realy Field Goal one. As far as i know, Field Goal RT-33 was initially based at Clark, then after crew training and plane modernization were completed, moved to Udorn. Combat missions were flown from Udorn, later from Don Muang. But at the background are clearly visible tales of 16 FIS F-102's, that were based in Naha. I also heard, that Field Goal RT-33 flew with fake RTAF insignia. May anybody specify? Another question is about early RF-101C in SEA. Were they Grey, Aluminium or unpainted natural metal?
