  1. JW glad to see someone cleverer than me as posted some photos of the SM 95. There is a resin SEM kit Fiat G 12 I have one as captured RAF HK940 of 223 Squadron in Italy Oct 1944 and probably will get to one in luftwaffe markings at some point.I like the different Cant Z 506. If Facebook is not an option my email is [email protected] I can send you photos of G 12, SM 75, SM 73 and SM 95 (when finished), Cant Z 506s if you wish Regards John
  2. J W i don’t post much on here photo wise as my IT skills are a bit limited and I don’t find it that easy. However I am on Facebook as John Holt if you do that? My address is Shepton Mallet Somerset and I can easily send you some pictures via the messenger. I think yours and my interests overlap quite a bit? I collect anything from WW2 operated by the British & Commonwealth and German 1/72 I have about 1500 and love the electic and have followed many of your builds with great interest. I have for example your Heinkel III G-3 photos as project I would love to add to my collection one day. I recently completed two Cant Z506 Floatplanes OOB the Italeri upgrade of the Supermodel one in Luftwaffe and one in RAF (HK977) at Malta. I would be interested in your C if it was ever operated by the Luftwaffe? I also have an SM 73 in RAF 24 Squadron markings (Ex-SABENA) I used the SEM Conversion and the Italeri SM 81 wings from a scrap kit. I also have an SM 81 in RAF markings 112 Squadron and one to do in stash as Luftwaffe. I have not got a SM 74 as I couldn’t locate any evidence of Luftwaffe or RAF usage much as it is a nice looking aircraft, but again would be interested if you have any evidence ? I think you will find that at least two of the SM 95s were used by the Luftwaffe on the Eastern Front by 5 Transportstaffel based I think at Mulhdorf in Aug 1944 (alongside of the Piaggio 108 funnily enoigh) and there is the odd photo on the internet unfortunately full codes cannot be seen but my research indicates is likely J4+VH and mine will be finished as that it is should be finished in next few weeks. Regards John
  3. J-W Enjoy and you were lucky being in EU that yours didn’t have to come via Ireland! Will be great addition to my Luftwaffe Italian heavy lifters they certainly used a variety I have a Broplan SM 95 to get finished and already have an SM 75 and 82 in Luftwaffe markings. Regards John
  4. Girogio you are quite right I did mean Italian Kits he was very helpful but would only ship to EU. It is a great conversion set for very different looking Piaggio 108.
  5. For those fancying something really different Cunarmodel have re released their resin conversion set to make this model into the 108T transport version with a much wider fuselage. A number were used on the Eastern front as heavy lifters by the Luftwaffe. I have bought mine. However be aware that Italianmodel the only shippers will not ship to the UK now we are out of the EU. Crazy but I had to get mine shipped to a mates address in Ireland and then he kindly posted on. A mad situation as I am pretty sure it probably went there via Gatwick or Heathrow rather than direct shipment to Dublin but who knows and que sera !
  6. Alexey any progress on resin bits for Scylla? Regards John
  7. Excellent want one of these for captured Italian aircraft with RAF and another with Luftwaffe markings
  8. Alexey As Jinxman I am happy to take what I you think will be useful for the Scylla. The Ensign is lovely kit. I actually have two to build. One as Mk 1 impressed with the RAF as the photo posted by Marko previously which I think is of an airfield RAF Staverton Gloucestershire in 1940 with an impressed Ensign, HP 42 and Scylla being readied to fly supplies to the BEF in France . I am pretty sure the Scylla is in camouflage in that photo, but other than that and one photo of a trashed of G-ACJJ at Drem Scotland in Sept 1940. I have never seen any other photos in camouflage. If nec I will look to mirror the HP 42 camouflage of which I have a 1/72 built Contrail example and there are plenty of images of for my Scylla Albeit I am not necessarily convinced by the yellow underneath for Impressed HP 42s mine (Horsa) actually has RAF sky underneath which looks right to me, and certainly Impressed DH Albatross were not nec yellow underneath nor do I think impressed Ensigns of which there are also loads of images they were either sky or aluminium Yellow whilst common for RAF support types seems a very odd colour for what were large military transports supplying the frontline. My second Mk 2 Ensign will definitely be slightly speculative as G- AXFV was operated by the Luftwaffe for short while after being captured by the Vichy French following an emergency landing in Africa, before they scrapped it probably due to lack of spares. The Luftwaffe very often used foreign aircraft as larger transports. I have never seen a photo of that one so it will likely be standard Luftwaffe splinter and I think will be fun if nothing else. These will fit i into my collection which is WW2 1/72 British & Commonwealth and German operated.
  9. Alexey you have done an incredible job with this kit. I have this one in my stash along with two of Toshihiko’s Ensigns I helped him with data for those by sourcing plans for him. Can I be very cheeky and if you are moulding additional sets of resin wheels, props and engines could I have set? I would be more than happy to pay for them up front of up to £50 plus postage if that worked for you? My email if you wish to sort directly is [email protected] Regards John Holt
  10. Valom Albemarle is sadly not their best transparency fit is challenging to say the least. Shame as with things like Harrow, Sparrow, Bombay, Buckingham, Buckmaster etc they have covered some great subjects
  11. Ithey do a IX version would be nice to do LR593 F for Freddie I have always wanted to do this one but never been able to locate a set of decals in 1/72 203 missions. There is a nice model of it at De Havilland musuem and I think it a real shame it is not readily available for modellers
  12. I have just completed one as K4633 with the front gun station and marked it as SH A in grey lettering from 216 Squadron Heliopolis April 1940. I can’t remember exactly where I got references from now, but I went for standard desert markings with aluminium underneath, rather than black which I hadn’t picked upon and aquite extensive bomb load I will try and post a picture on here under new builds I’d my IT skills are up to it
  13. That’s interesting re the Fulmar I believe it was the first one on the production line and retained by Fairey and I assume at some point picked up Firefly wheels.
  14. Got two on back order from Hannants thought this would be a Christmas product any idea when will be released? Already have a set of printscale decals as want a desert markings and costal command white one.
  15. Good to see this coming out. I have one built and one in stash of the old MPM which now fetches silly money on EBay. I quite enjoyed building, but this will clearly been a big improvement. A somewhat forgotten but attractive aircraft. I cannot believe that Yeovilton, who get so much right, have the only one.on the world currently in their reserve collection. To me this and the Fulmar and hopefully one day the Barracuda have to always been on display as they are or will be in the case of the Barracuda utterly unique.
  16. Looks like Ben is doing an amazing job with this
