  1. 271 Squadron ps for Market KG444 flown by Jimmy Edwards was later awarded a DFC for a forced landing after being attacked by a FW190. He had several injured crew who were to bad to bake out. His facial injuries led to to wear a handlebar moustache and was part of the Guinea Pig club in pioneering plastic surgery. He later became a TV comic actor http://www.pegasusarchive.org/arnhem/war_271sqn.htm https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Edwards
  2. Taigen do a set of G/F metal tracks, no idea how the detail compares to the kit parts though. https://www.taigentanks.com/taigen-parts/panther-jp
  3. I missed the tailplane issue too, just spent an hour or so with a scalpel and Tamiya extra thin to correct them. The sprue stubs on the rear fuselage turret area are a good fit. Interesting about the nacelle fit as I seem to have the issue with the starboard side. The undercarriage painting have done this. Looks to me it would easy to make up the wheel roof and ends paint then add the painted legs then finish with the side walls.
  4. Just a heads up, but it has been pointed out on FB that the landing gear has the maintenance strut locks which would not be present in a wartime operating plane. See the red struts in enclosed picture. https://www.facebook.com/groups/LancAssemblyLine/permalink/1792148920894059/
  5. A little left field but June next year will be the centenary of Alcock and Brown making the first transatlantic crossing. The plane is in the science museum so Lidar access. Do yes 1/72 Alcock and Brown Vimy is my bet.

Trumpeter Leoplold on Amazon for that price. Not built one, but the kit does have around 1000 parts. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trumpeter-280mm-Leopold-railroad-00207/dp/B000BMYTFY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1470475099&sr=8-2&keywords=Trumpeter+leopold There is also HobbyBoss Dora, not idea on kit detail, it over a metre long though. Do you have the space :-).
