    Jaguar GR3

Cheers Phil, PM inbound. I've had a couple of Bucc cockpits of them, both had instructions and the Bucc cockpit was pretty much self explanatory! This one, however has an option for GR1 or 3 and what appears to be a nose wheel bay that's not even mentioned on their sales pitch, seems strange! As I say the resin mouldings are first class though!
  2. Hi Folks My next build (Buccaneer coming to an end, picks should be up soon) is going to be an Airfix Jag and I ordered the Neomega cockpit which arrived today. Now the resin looks great, very crisp detail and you get consoles for both a GR1 and a GR3, what I didn't get was instructions! Whilst I'm aware that 'real men' don't use instructions and it's pretty clear where how most of it goes together I would just like a bit of guidance with regards to the rear bulkhead and what appears to be the nose wheel bay! Is it possible for anybody to scan the instructions or provide some words of encouragement?
  3. Looking good Lenny. Like the cockpit, the Aires seats look the biz. Hope you kept some filler back for the air intakes
  4. I got some last week to use on my current Buccaneer build, thinned it with tap water, but maybe too much, think I ended up putting too much down in one go too, cause the result was probably more glossy than their gloss! Will need to try again thinning 50:50!
  5. Hi Lenny Nice start on the pit, I'm planning on getting a hold of one of these soon, I've got the Paragon resin parts ready to go. Which brings me onto your question, yes MB Mk10 seats, Paragon used to do them before they shut up shop, you may still find them in stock at modelsforsale or elsewhere (Hannants are sold out). Murray
  6. Bomb'ed Nice start, is it just coincidence that you started on the ordnance first.................... no didn't think so!
  7. Could be Martin Baker Mk9 seats? http://www.martin-baker.co.uk/products/Eje...k--9/Mk--9.aspx

    Buccaneer

XV, can't post any picks but it's just a big f*#k off (for want of a better expression!) hinge, you can just see on in the photo hon the starboard wing with the female parts on the main wing and male part coming from the fuselage side. There's close up picks of the hinges on an aircraft with wings folded in The Aviation Workshops Spotlight publication, sorry can't post any pics.

    Buccaneer

Thanks Julien, yes that's exactly what I'm looking for, the same photo's in the link Ian put up, never seen it before, don't see many of the medium sea grey Buccs. I'm doing a grey/green aircraft but this pictures perfect for showing up all the well worn areas.

    Buccaneer

Thanks for that, I know what I'm doing now!
  11. I'm currently building a 1/48 Airfix Brick and have a wee question about the upper wing vortex generators, did the dirty streaks from these flow back in line with the airflow (ie straight back) or did they angle inwards as the vortex generators do? Can't find any clear photo's, although I've a feeling they angle inwards.

    H&S Evo

Paul and Jetblast Thanks very much for your help, it worked! Gave the air valve a really good clean and put the o ring in a warm place and now it's working as normal. Cheers Murray
  13. That looks great, the Paragon wheels look the business, glad I got a hold of some now there oop!
  14. Cheers, I'll being using water in future then.

    H&S Evo

Jetblast Thanks very much for your reply, I've taken out the stem etc and given it all a clean, was a bit dirty. I've got the black seal fitted to. Mine, it's undamaged but not sure if it's swollen or not, I don't think so. I've put it all together again and see how I get on. Thanks again. Murray
  16. I tried spraying Citadel paints today (Chainmail silver) can't remember if I've sprayed them before or not by tried to thin with Mr Color thinners which appeared to make it thicker. Then tried Tamiya thinners which worked better, when I went to clean the airbrush out I used some water which got rid of the paint no probes, so is water the best thinner for Citadel?

    H&S Evo

My H&S Evo is allowing air through the nozzle as soon the compressor is turned on without touching the trigger, the paint comes out as normal when the trigger is pulled back. I'm thinking somethings needing replaced around about the trigger area, the spring perhaps, any suggestions?
  18. Should find it here if this works http://www.wolfpack-d.com/
  19. Yes, Wolfpack sell a reboxed SU-27 on there site, from memory it contains there resin cockpit amongst other items.

    Tornado's

Brimstone was never cleared on the Harrier before it's premature retirement, it was never carried operationally and I'm not sure if it was even carried on a trial basis, I know I've got a AFM around somewhere from about 3 years ago (?) showing a new (at the time) GR9 on static display carrying 12 Brimstone Drill rounds on 4 pylons. They were basically on the same triple launcher as per GR4 (without the downward slant) on the pylons either side of the usual Sidewinder pylon.
  21. Such was the swiftness of the chop! When you see photo's of them now from Herrick etc it's quite bizarre and sad to think there no longer flying.

    harrier

Thanks for the reply Jon but did the Harriers not carry the Paveway III and sometimes Paveway II on those pylons, I thought maybe it was the station for carrying the AIM-9's that wasn't counted?

    harrier

Just wondering how that works when there's 4 pylons on each wing plus the central pylon making nine pylons in total?
  24. Not sure of the exact shade but it's definitely grey. The undercarriage and bays etc will be the same as the S2 which is a light grey as is the interior for the wing fold, the Airfix instructions call out Humbrol 196 for the undercarriage and 127 US Ghost Grey for the bays and wing fold which looks about right, although I always thought the bays and undercarriage looked the same colour. I have a photo of a anti-flash White S1 with the air brake open and it's hard to tell (b&w photo) but it looks like dark sea grey which is also what the S2's were. HTH Murray
