What looked like a Grumman Bearcat yesterday in a holding pattern waiting to do a practise display for the local airshow. Today theres been a Bell Huey, Bronco and what appeared to be a Skyraider but it was a wee bit away, a first for all four I think!

Thanks Col, things are going a bit slower than I would like. I've got decals for 16 & 54 Sqn aircraft in special markings but fancy doing something different, have just noticed that aircraft deployed to Norway in 2005 in winter camo so going to do a bit more research into this!

Another update on the build, which is going a tad slowly! Most of the filling and sandings done now (I hope!) so hopefully things should progress. Anyway here's where I'm up to........... Filling in the auxilary intake doors, so they appear flush in the static position. Used thin plastic card to fill and sanded smooth. Made the vents at the rear of the lower fuselage with spare bits of PE I had lying around, the kit pieces are just solid bits of plastic. The paragon cannon bulges and flare dispensors fitted. Just about ready to start putting the camo down but still not sure what scheme to do!

Muller Between the superb model, the base and the photography it all makes for very, very life like scene, fantastic. Funny to see it sitting on the paint pots, makes them look huge! Is it 1/48 or 1/32?

A check on Airliners.net shows aircraft from the Bentwaters/Woodbridge wing carrying very little in the way of stores, there is one shot from 1988 of a Hog landing at Nellis carrying the twin adaptor.

Very, very nice, makes me want to make a start on mine.

Wow, both totally stunning, particularly like the finish and weathering on the FG1.

I was forgetting it could be the the high viz style roundels with white!

Van Annoying as it is, it happens from time to time, if you get in touch with Model Alliance you may find that their not aware of the problem and will get it sorted on further production runs, either way, I've found there customer care to be very good and I'm sure you'll find that they'll send you a new set without question. It's strange that you've had a problem with the roundels as they obviously produce these all the time but I don't think there's any doubt in there ability to produce some great decals. Hope you get it sorted. Muzz

Finally, an update, not had much time at the moment but here's where it's at............. The neomega nosewheel bay with some added scratch, the gun bays have also been added and drilled out, still need tidying up; Some plasic tabs added to fill gaps that would show when the main wings fitted; Main wing on, some filler required; My plan to deal with the intakes, plastic card cut to shape and fitted to fill the auxiliary doors, not sure how they'll turn out; Should have a bit of time on my hands so next update hopefully sooner rather than later but got a bit of filling and sanding to do now!

I already have the MF kit and MF overtrees in the stash, now I'm wanting an SMT, dammit!
-
Pigsty Not dense at all, it took me a bit of working out when they released them first time round! Yes, you can buy the kit on it's own for $24.95 and yes it's only available from them direct, how much is there p&p? When I bought the MF earlier in the year it was free! Remember also, as with other overtrees kits there's no instructions or decals, but the instructions can be downloaded from the site in PDF form. Muzz

Hi Ingo I'm afraid only Tornados have carried the missile in service, it may have been trialled on the Jag or Harrier. Muzz

Eduard have just announced their releasing the overtrees kits again for the MF and SMT for a limited period during July! $24.95 is a bit of a bargain for such a great kit!

The leading edges of the Granby F3's were given a coating of RAM paint (radar absorbent material) in an attempt to reduce their radar cross section, or something like that. Tamiya NATO black or similar should do the job.

Another Sea Vixen joins the the pack!
Muzz replied to ferny's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Like that a lot Ferny and don't worry your build times the same as me! Like the heat colouring on the rocket launchers, nice touch. -
Hi Phil Yes, I need to find out where the two parts go that are like some sort of pipe work, next to the control stick in the above photo, maybe on the rear bulkhead or inside the canopy? Pm sent regarding the handles. Col Thanks, photo's of the Bucc will hopefully be up shortly. Muzz

Cheers Houston, you don't have to wait long, I started a few days ago so here's where I'm up to............ Cockpit painted using various shades of black and a coating of Flory Models white wash. I have the Paragon seats too but decided to use the Neomega one as the castings a lot crisper, although it's not a very accurate Mk9, oxygen bottle and other equipment appear to be on the wrong side but won't really be seen. Fitted in along with the gear bay which I forgot to take photos off! And all together not a bad fit at all. Here's a wee preview of my currently stalled Buccaneer build, nearly finished, just waiting on some inspiration for the ejection seat handles and sorting out the underwing stores.
-
After my Airfix Buccaneer build, which is nearly finished, I thought I'd do a nice easy OOB build, so would it be the AFV Club F-5 or the Eduard MIG-21 I have waiting to be built? Nah, think I'll do the Airfix Jag I've had stashed away for 6 years, why oh why!? Well, wish me luck and feel free to give me the heads up about anything waiting to trip me up, apart from of course the soft warped plastic and poor detail! I've bought some Paragon bits, Neomega pit and some MA Decals which I might use but not sure yet, thinking about a 6 or 41 Sqn instead. And the Neomega pit, already primed.
-
Phil I was just thinking that same thing this afternoon, went out and bought some Tamiya Khaki to give that a go. I used a Citadel yellow on my last build, which looked ok, can't remember the exact shade at the moment. Muzz

Cheers Chadders, just wanted to confirm what I was seeing before I break out the paint!
-
After studying some photo's on the net I'm just looking to confirm that the Jag GR3 cockpit colour is black as apposed to Dk Admiralty Grey, can anyone confirm?
-
That would be great, pm sent. Muzz

I'm just about to start this kit, the Neomega cockpit just arrived this week and got the paragon parts a while back too. The actual kits only been in the stash about 6 years!!

Well, I should say from my experience their resin is first class, I've had a Bucc and Jag cockpit of them. The Bucc cockpit fits wel and the Jag looks as stunning but not started fitting it yet. Their delivery times not been too bad either, a few days for one and a week or so for other. What I will say is they sent me the Bucc cockpit twice and charged me for it, when I called them they said "well can you not sell it on" but did offer to take it back. (I ended up selling it here at little cost to myself) In the last few weeks I've ordered a Jag pit and again the resin is lovely, arrived within a week or so. But no instructions as to how to put it together, I'll work it out no prob's but would be nice to have instructions! In short, if you have the money to spend, their resin is nice and if your in the UK should get to you in a week or so, I'll buy from them again.
