Looks like a replacement DSG rudder IMHO.

Is it not a different shade of green? I built one a few years ago and all the references suggested a different colour, think I done mine in Tamiya Nato Green which seemed a spot on match.

Very nice, shiny! Did you use the kit decals for the canopy det cord or are they painted? -

I’m correct in thinking we have until 23:59 hours (BST) on 16/08/20 to post completed builds? I’m finished but was waiting until later today to get photos! Cancel just seen the text in the gallery, it is indeed 23:59 hours, phew!

Looks like the release has been put back (no surprise) as Jumblies is saying kits now wont be dispatched until 30/09/20.

Only a few things left to do and it will be done. Main wheels bays done and ready for the gear. And pylons ready to be attached.

Cracking job. Is this a Revell reboxing of a Hasegawa kit or is it Revells own? -

Getting some weathering done, sprayed some heavily thinned rubber black down either side of the rear fuselage for exhaust staining and added some streaks using pastels, not done yet but getting there. I'm away with work mon - fri at the minute, so not getting much done, should make the finish line next weekend though.
-
Noticed that too, due the 31 August I believe. Hoping it's going to result in some new decal sheets of up to date schemes but nothing yet.
-
I've built the 1/48 ICM PD and RBT versions great kits and great value for money. Revell also reboxed the RBT kit but beware as I think the also released a rebox (possibly Italeri) 1/48 Mig-25PD years ago which is not the same kit.

A few more bits done, leading edges of the wings/tailplane done in Ak Xtreme Metals Aluminium, also got some of the sensors painted up and masking removed from canopy. Cant see it in these photos but I've done a wee bit of surgery on the IFR probe as the tip was going to be pointing downwards rather than horizontal.
-
Just caught up with all this, stunning build! How did you get on adding the front canopy after painting? Mine didnt fit well at all!
-
Trying to confirm if the large fibreglass panel on the bottom of the rear fuselage (behind the bomb bay) was still present on the grey coloured airframes or if it was painted over?
-
Decals done, using about 3 different sheets, still lacking a bit of stencil detail. The Xtradecal History of 12 Sqn sheet is not one of there best, the roundels are well oversized. Also got a matt coat done. Working on the landing gear and NMF on the leading edges next.
-
It's a bit of a strange demarcation line with the bomb bay not being Camo Grey, every decal manufacturer and colour profile I've looked at skips the underside as if there not really sure so just avoid it! Managed to get there with photos although the underside of the tail planes are never shown or mentioned so wasnt sure about them, ended up doing them Camo grey as well.

What Werner says, although the centre line 1000ld’er was also carried on many CAP missions, the aircraft would take off and fling it towards Stanley airfield to harass the enemy and keep them on their toes before heading off on CAP. If your looking to portray an aircraft actually involved in the conflict then the EDSG over white was never worn with the white being painted over on the journey south. I maybe picked you up wrong and this is what you mean by EDSG over white as in painted over white. Muzz

Long, long overdue an update, sorry folks! Couldn't get a hold of canopy masks and procrastinated over it for too long. Ended up making with tape and cutting out the edges. I forgot to take photos of the primed finish so its straight on the the colour scheme. I'm using a bit of artistic licence, I'm doing XX885 with the replacement port intake but also have earlier photos of the air frame from a year or so earlier where various panels are finished in DSG including the main canopy, radome and rudder. The nose art is also still present on the starboard side although very faded. I'm looking to do a combination of these details to make the grey scheme a bit more interesting! Upper surfaces finished in Medium Sea Gray (Hataka). Lower surfaces also MSG with Camouflage Grey under the wing surfaces.
