  2. Thanks Troy for your comprehensive reply. Patience seems to be the operative word here.
  3. Hi all I've been looking at sprue shots of the new Eduard kit and I cannot tell if there is an option for a vertically straight exhaust pipe for the earlier R-11F-300 engine. Sprue shots clearly show the correct MF 'stepped' exhaust ring. If I'm not mistaken, this is the main difference between the MF and FL. Others include radar and canopy mirror. The FL was an export version. The Egyption AF had some in 1973.

  5. "Revell 03897 1/72 Spitfire Vb Dear Sirs Is this a new moulding? Or is this an old moullding with raised panel lines? Thank you in anticipation Yours faithfully" "Many thanks for your mail and the inlcuded question. We can tell you, that this is a conversion to an existing 1/72 kit, which we did in 1996. This means automatically, that the kit includes recessed panel lines. We hope, we could serve you. Kindly with all the best regards yours Revell GmbH from Germany" Part of research for Spitfire Mk.Vb Fighter Free French Air Force. No. 340 Squadron in July 1942.

  7. Correct! By combining the two, a very good Harvard Mk1 can be acheived. The left-overs will make a fantasy what-if Russian trainer for fun. I've yet to work out who donates the wings and find photos of P5823.
  8. The only supplier of the High Planes Wirraway is in Singapore and at the moment they are taking their summer holiday. I'll e-mail them soon. Thanks for the tips. There was a time when the Japanese plastic and the polystyrene cement did not bond well. The parting fuselarge halves has haunted me ever since.
  9. Thanks Graham, Steve and Michael. One of my gripes with modern kits is the omission of fuselarge locating pins! So ease of construction is important to me.
  10. What's the best way to obtain High Planes in the UK? Freightdog Models is listed as their importer but they don't appear to stock any
  11. The online retailer of Colourcoats, I found, require a minimum of six tins. I had to think about future projects for colours I might use.
  12. Hi all! This excellent site had a thread devoted to converting the Wirraway to Harvard Mk. 1 in 2012: Since then Special Hobby have introduced in 1/72 scale, two Wirraways: Special Hpbby 1/72 CA-3/5 Wirraway - First Blood over Rabaul Special Hobby 1/72 CAC CA-9 Wirraway What's the difference? Which shall I chose for converting? Incidentally, I think I can get away with a Harvard Mk.1 canopy from: Special Hobby 1/72 BT-9/NJ-1 US Trainer Plane. Thanks in advance for any help M.M.
  13. Thanks for posting them Tomahawk seems to have the camouflage extended around the wing's leading edge? Similar to H. S. Harriers early 70's
  14. Really? What about H 246?
  15. I often feel the pull of aesthetics on the one hand and accuracy on the other.
  16. In that case,l perhaps the researcher at Frog discovered something no one else has, so I feel very temped to stick with the suggested legend/scheme.
  17. G9+AA the first 'A' is green, the second is grey on the decal sheet. Does that sound possible? Cheers everyone Thanks Troy for reposting pic
  18. Thanks B.K. A helpful friend suggests: Light Blue = RLM 76 = Humbrol 247 Light Grey = RLM 75 = Humbrol 246 Dark Grey = RLM 74 = Humbrol 245
  19. Hi all I have decals for Schaufer's 110 but cannot find any images online. Any help appreciated http://s1079.photobucket.com/user/HappyBunny26/media/ME 110g_zpse2ekspni.jpg.html Thanks in anticipation
  20. Hi ChocksAway

Please can you pop up a pic of Pollock's Hunter flying through Tower Bridge?

On BBC Look East news they interviewed him, and it be great to provide a link so others can hear him.

    Thanks in anticipation

      Hi John

      Thanks for replying

Yes, Mister Craft Mig-17pf did arrive.  I cannot be sure if it's the KP mould, no KP logo on the inside.  Inscribed panel lines.  Annoyed at the air intake shape, not very accurate and will need filler to make the contours correct.  Something I've never done before

  22. In a current modelling magazine I noticed that KP have released a new Mig-21R. What do I have to do to convert it to a Mig-21RF? Alternatively, has anyone made the R.V.Aircraft 1/72 Mig-21RF? I have exhaused my reference material. I know Egypt was the sole importer of this lesser-known version. Thank you in anticipation
  23. Thanks Serge, I hope some trader is selling this at Detling Military Odyssey.
  24. Thanks Andre When you say "bits" the ECR does not solve the nose shap problem then. Or? Which of the two provides the main source (fuselarge, wings) of the GR1A?
  25. Hi Andre Please might you elaborate on this? I'm assuming the decals come from the GR.! and the nose from the ECR? RoG stands for?
