  1. Looks great, I wouldn't have guessed you'd had issues with it. I have some Bandai Star Wars in the stash, so I'll be sure to heed your advice about acrylics when I get to them.
  2. Always nice to see someone take one of those older, sometimes maligned, kind of kits and make something nice out them! Well done!
  3. Wonderful work all around! I especially like the job you did of weathering the underside!
  4. Very sad for her and her mother's family and my thoughts are with them, and her colleagues. However, the Nerd in me takes some solace in the words of Master Yoda - "Death is a natural part of life... rejoice for those ... who transform into the Force."
  5. Wonderful! Shiny finishes always gave me fits, so I love seeing well-done airliners!
  6. Absolutely beautiful! The tailpipes in particular look incredible!
  7. Wow, those are incredible markings, and you did an absolutely wonderful job rendering it! Hat's off!
  8. Finished this last night - better pictures when I get home from the current trip (but that won't be till after the deadline, so had to post these now!)
  9. Despite the demands of grad school, COMPLETE chaos at work, and no let up in the better-half and I gallavanting all over the place for fun (2 weekends agi, a Bavarian style Oktoberfest in the Cascade Mountains then a Seahawk game in Seattle; last weekend a dinner party for work Friday night then a drive cross-state and back for a wedding; and as I write this we're in LA for the Rock n Roll half marathon), I've managed - for the first time EVER - to finish a group build on time, wrapping this one up last night. Better pictures after I get home and have a chance to bust out the big boy camera, but I wanted to post these to prove I got it done before the deadline!
  10. Thanks! Here's another (belated) update - last weekend, I managed to spray the rest of the colors - hoping to get some Future sprayed this afternoon before hitting the road for the weekend.
  11. I'm definitely sympathetic with you all in regards to the F-35. I can't read an article about it without getting angry - that program's been such an abortion that it frankly makes me mad no one from Lockheed Martin or the Department of Defense are under criminal indictment. So, safe to say, I don't see myself building one.
  12. Bet you thought I had fallen off the face of the earth, or at least petered out, eh? Nah, it was just a busy month. Trip down to Reno for Tailhook, a couple Seahawk Sundays down in Seattle, a few other social commitments, end-of-fiscal-year-shenanigans, and starting grad school all have eaten up a lot of time. But I've managed to sneak in some time to get some modelling in. I soaked my clear parts in Future, masked the engine, gear bay, and windscreen (which I subsequently installed before masking the rest of the cockpit). I preshaded with gunship gray, and then applied camouglage gray on the underside. So far I think it's my most successful attempt at preshading.
  13. Nice work - glossy finishes aren't the easiest thing in the world (at least not for me!!) Looks sharp!
