  1. I ordered this kit from plazajapan.com, I think they have. 1/48 and a7m2 available as well? And that’s what I thought as well! I knew it was going to be larger but it is definitely larger than I thought it would be haha.
  2. Howdy, here is a 1/72 A7M1 I’ve recently completed. It was a great kit and went together nicely, only requiring a little bit of Vallejo putty after I joined the wings to the fuselage. My two year old daughter enjoys watching me model and modeling with me but while I was away from the bench she got ahold of this little plane and managed to snap the antenna off. I couldn’t find where the other half went to so it’s now just a stub haha. But anyways hope you enjoy this little build. I kind of went with a “what if” theme. I went with a prototype orange paint job but weathered it a bit with the idea that as the United States closed in on mainland Japan they employed any aircraft available, even prototypes. I’ve also included a 1/72 A6M3 I built a few months ago to show the size comparison between the two planes. And please excuse the poor photography skills. I mostly use my iPhone for a camera and am trying to come up with a better back drop for my models haha.
  3. Great looking diorama! I have to admit I’m not too familiar with French armor but this makes me want to learn more 👍
  4. Haha that I did, not intentionally tho! I didn’t notice until I had a coat of paint over the whole thing and was looking at the scheme options. I was actually thinking about buying this same kit again because it was so fun to build and rectifying my mistakes I made during this build. I didn’t put any spare tracks on because I glued down the holders before realizing the track needed to go in first as well 🙄
  5. Thanks for the kind words! With this trumpeter kit they had a separate sheet of zimmerit you cut out and glued onto the plastic. It was an excellent way to do the zimmerit I thought and it matched up with the molded plastic really well. And the tow cables were out of the box, I just painted them in tamiya’s gun metal color then added a little dark gray panel line accent and that seemed to make them pop a bit more. I’ll keep an eye out for your tiger if you post it on here so I can admire it as well! I’ve been going down a tiger/king tiger wormhole lately and just can’t get enough of looking at them haha.
  6. Howdy all, here is my first tiger I’ve completed and my second tank I’ve built. The first being Tamiya’s panzer II which was a fun little build. This kit was a joy to put together and everything fit quite nicely! I built it out of the box other than using Masterclub’s metal tracks which were awesome. My only complaint with the tracks were the little resin pins seemed to fall out while I was handling the tracks after I burnished them in ak’s burnishing liquid. I remedied this by inserting straightened staples into the empty holes and snipping the ends off. (Thanks Andy’s hobby headquarters YouTube channel for that tip haha.) I had a few other errors while building it but am pretty pleased with how it came out! Any comments or critiques are always welcome as I’m fairly new to the hobby and trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can haha. Thanks for the look!
  7. Awesome! My next kit I’m going to start after I finish my current tiger tank is a 1/72 fine molds a7m1. I was going to paint it in the prototype orange color and yours is definitely inspiring hope for my future build!
  8. Can I join in with a takom 1/35 king tiger?
  9. And thank you for the kind words as well! I too am a fan of the armored car family. I’m currently reading a book titled Tip of the Spear on German ww2 reconnaissance units and thats what inspired the 222 build. I’d like to do a 221 and 223 down the line here as they are really fun little vehicles to build. Do you know of a good kit to recommend for a 231 or 232? I’m trying to skip the trickier kits for now because I actually binned an old Airfix b26 marauder because it was giving me such trouble and required a little more love than my skills were able to provide haha. I was spoiled with this Tamiya 222 because it went together beautifully.
  10. Thanks for the kind words and welcome! And I credit the paint skills to the airbrush. Once I got one of those and some good Tamiya paint it really improved my results. My first two planes were done with a brush and testors paints and if I posted a picture of them on here they might blind someone! One day I’d like to master the old hairy stick but I’ll stick with an airbrush for now haha.
  11. Greetings from fabulous Las Vegas! I’m a newb to the hobby and have been modeling for only about 6 months or so. Ive been snooping around on this site and I’ve learned quite a bit just seeing all the awesome stuff you all have been posting! This panzerspahwagen is my first attempt at modeling I’ve been pleased with and have had very few “oh sh*t” moments with it. I’m definitely interested in any constructive criticism and thanks for looking!
