  1. Any recent progress on the chi ri? I ordered that kit a little bit ago and it just came in the mail, so I figured I’d pop in and see how yours was coming along haha.
  2. Truly a work of art! This is making me excited, and a bit nervous, to start my full interior tiger for the upcoming group build!
  3. I second that ^^ that camo is awesome
  4. This is great. Looking forward to seeing your paint scheme on this in the future!
  5. The olivegrun in the e75 almost looks tastier than the red oxide so I’d say that’s a win! I think that Tamiya boxing of the type 5 is about to be on my “to get” list 🤔
  6. This is coming together great! The full interior kits look like so much fun.
  7. Beautiful! The base is extremely realistic as well, is it plaster?
  8. Thank you very much! And I really enjoy the red primer/Dunkelgelb camo scheme. It might be my favorite German camo our there so I was glad to get to try it out on this build haha. I actually just watched a you tube video of the panther at the bovington tank museum and it made me want to do a panther in the primer/ undercoat camo scheme.
  9. Howdy y’all, heres my latest creation. It’s ammo’s July 1945 king tiger. I built it mostly out of the box with the exception of some fruil metal tracks. The kit went together pretty decent but the lower and upper hills were slightly warped so that took a little bit of “umph” to mate up properly. But other than that the kit was awesome. I believe this is just a reboxing of a Takom kit, which is great because I have a full interior takom king tiger I’m going to be building for the upcoming tiger group build. I’ve left the weathering lighter on this one as I’m going to build my first diorama or base for this and wasn’t sure if it was going to be based in a city scape or countryside yet. I’m leaning towards cityscape, but anyways I digress. Hope you enjoy it and I’m always interested in feedback!
  10. Maybe spread mud around the whole road wheel since it would have rolled thru the mud and not just have the mud on the bottom of the road wheel?
  11. Definitely clear in those pictures. Other than backdating the kit I’ll just have to track down some aftermarket zimmerit. I believe I’ve seen Eduard does a set for this kit it’s just on the more expensive side, but the cost of beauty is high I’ve heard haha. I wish I would’ve read the box a little bit more before buying this kit but the excitement of my first king tiger kit took over haha
  12. Hmm, maybe I’ll just build it zimmeritless and claim artistic freedom haha
  13. Awesome! Gonna have to order this kit sometime soon.
  14. I’ve found one picture that looks like it doesn’t have zimmerit, do you have any others? its hard to tell in in this photo exactly but it looks zimmeritless?
  15. The more I look into that the more daunting of a task it becomes haha. I think there’s a few things I’d have to scratch build like flat front fenders instead of the curved ones. With the exhaust guards I could probably get away with using tiger I parts? The kit I have comes with the interior and I think the interior between the prototype and the production were quite a bit different?
  16. From what I’ve researched yes, but I’m not 100% sure.
  17. Looks like I’ll be searching for some aftermarket zimmerit then. Thanks for the reply!
  18. Hello all, I have a quick question(s) that I’m having trouble finding a solid definitive answer online with. I have a takom king tiger with a Porsche turret without the zimmerit, and my question is can this kit be built as an initial production king tiger? I know the first 50 or so KT’s had Porsche turrets as the other Krupp turrets weren’t ready yet, but I believe those with the Porsche turrets had the zimmerit applied to them? Basically what I’m trying to figure out is if I can build this kit out of the box as the initial production version or should I try and track down some after market zimmerit for a takom kit to apply to make this one of the first 50 that had zimmerit. I usually am not an extreme rivet counter and don’t beat myself up too much of my models are not 100% historically correct, but do like having them as close as possible that my skill level will allow. Thanks for reading and hope to hear some answers!
  19. Haha I play this plane on war thunder! I’m. It very good at that game and play it on an Xbox so that’s even more of a handicap but it’s still a fun game to play.
  20. For an extremely agreeable price at that as well 😁
  21. That and an earthquake at the end of 1944 really sealed the fate of this plane. I think I read somewhere out there on the World Wide Web that the Sam was 50% larger than the zero?
  22. Haha I couldn’t find the nice piece of pine I have so I figured her puzzle base would work ok. And my modeling area is out in the open so she usually comes by and sits in her little chair next to me while I’m working. I’ll hand her a sanding stick and she proceeds to run around the house rubbing it on things going “chh chh”.
