  1. They'd probably love to make the switch as well, if it wasn't for the cost of cutting tooling.
  2. Hellström&Fredin (Kronmärkt) specify it as a non-standard light grey "slightly darker than [FS] 25622". The blue meanwhile is likewise a non-standard colour "lightly bluer than 25109". (Translations mine.) Though I have to say the former seems rather greenish to me compared to the one at Flygvapenmuseum at least.
  3. Those flying stands look much the same as those that come with Bandai's little box scale easy-build Star Wars kits, so I'm guessing the overall approach with these will be much the same as well. Time for a quick prayer to the God-Emepror for that to be extended to also making some 1/72 kits one day...
  4. According to Meng's facebook the Atreides thopter So 1/72 and bigger seems pretty safe to rule out, I'm guessing they just went box scale here.
  5. Nice, that's a kit I've been hoping someone would make.
  6. Indulging passionate interest tends to take time. Keeping your job means meeting deadlines.
  7. Black marked ones from the start, white marked ones only after the AJS-upgrade. ARAK/ÖRAK - Viggen's rocket pod (attack/practice) Spräng-/övnbomber - small bombs (HE/practice) in quad packs Lysbomb - illumination bombs I'm not sure if things could be mixed and matched freely, a pair of Rb 24 (aka Rb 24B) or Rb 24J on the fuselage seems like the most reasonable company for a pair of Rb 04. Rb 24B is basically an AIM-9B, and Rb 24J is largely an AIM-9P (according to https://www.aef.se/Flygvapnet/Notiser/Sidewinder.htm )
  8. Well if the army can drape itself in local flora for camouflage then why not the navy?
  9. By FineMolds standards I'd say this is a rather normal modelling subject. I mean... https://www.scalemates.com/kits/fine-molds-mkn101-makino-v33i--1112179
  10. Still waiting on a kit I bought from him last year.
  11. Seems like more of a Hasegawa than Tamiya approach. On the plus side aftermarket decals seem reasonably plentiful, though I'm saying that without having tried to chase down anything really specific there.
  12. I recently bit down and built the Kora resin offering, the kind of task that has been known to make new and less... well, let's just say new kits appear. Alas it seems that pound of sanity wasn't sufficient sacrifice here. Anyone up for some scratch building?
  13. They simple tossed their "Europe Aircraft Weapons Set" into some/all of their Eurofighter boxings. Speaking of, has anyone heard of any 1/72 Qatari decals?
  14. Seeing as how I'm not going to go without missiles, of course the version I'll be building is the one sold as advanced instead of expert. Oh well, order placed regardless, at least the missile pack existed as an option instead of being something I'd have to try and chase down elsewhere.
  15. Waterline, so they line up at (about) the right height next to each other. Though I guess submarines may be a different matter if I ever get around to those.
  16. Last build of last year, finished some 20 minutes before midnight on the 31st... HMS Drottning Victoria, 1/700 resin&3D print from Modellbau Ray. Along with SMS Lützow, finished somewhat earlier in the year.
  17. Well like that it actually looks pretty decent, I think as it is the aircraft's too stretched out for my taste but all the missiles here help fill it out.
  18. Let's just say there's been some sulphuric language involved at times.
  19. Bought some meteor missiles from them once. They were kinda shoddy.
  20. Following from Lützow we have something a bit bigger and a bit newer, specifically a subject rendered necessary for building due to this year's vacation. One of the better ship museums I've been to. Anyway... as for the kit itself it's rather unsurprising Tamiya 1/700 fare. Goes together nicely but well short of Flyhawk in detailing. Gold medal Models go to help a bit with that. Two different mask sets were looked at, both covered the wooden deck parts and completely ignored everything else despite even the painting instructions making it clear most horizontal surfaces were a different hue than the vertical ones. All done. Not a lot of rigging on modern(ish) ships, but some did pop up. With some company... Yes, I did visit Intrepid as well while I was at it. And if we add roughly half of her displacement to New Jersey... The wrestler and the sumo?
  21. It'll probably just be whichever catches my attention in some store the next time I'm in Japan.
  22. It was just about the only reason I could think of to put the less important to the overall story torpedo boat in the kit. Let's see here. The railing on top of the secondary armament gallery was a proper sweetheart of compounding errors, though that was just due to the anything but straight shape of the deck edge there. The boats were a bit of a bother to fit into their cradles, I ended up chopping away a good bit of the middle cradles to make them sit better in the outer ones. Finally there's the top searchlight platform just in front of the forward funnel. Space for the searchlights underneath the small bit of ceiling that goes above them is minimal, so make sure you trim any attachment nubs off of the ends of the feet for the small searchlight scaffold/tower properly and then if possible attach the tower legs around the small raised part on the deck underneath it. You may also want to bend the searchlight platform railings into shape before you glue the searchlight platforms in place. Otherwise it was pretty smooth sailing. The slight lean to the rear mast is because of me gluing it place the wrong way around at first, so it's been chopped off and put back together.
  23. Along with the torpedo boat G37, which was included in the boxing I got. I guess G38 would have been too morbid? Excellent kit as always with Flyhawk, though a minor amount of flash. Maybe the moulds starting to show some age? Some day I'll get Flyhawk's HMS Invincible to keep her company.
  24. Real nice and clean job there. I really gotta build a FSS mech myself some day, it's just too much of a glorious mess not to.
  25. I've already got some Angolan decals ready and waiting for it. (And in the unlikely event that Angola is one of the options in the box I guess I'll just get to feel a bit silly about it.)
