  1. I think I will have to try and take it off and lower the front location points.
  2. Excellent work. It certainly is a beast! I don't know how I missed seeing this. I am building one at the moment. Did you have a problem with fitting the cab unit? Mine is slightly tilted backwards.
  3. Nice one, it's looking great.
  4. Looking great, well done and good progress.
  5. Ok thanks Chris I am ok for the green now but that idea could come in handy for another of my projects.
  6. Just checked my personal messages and I found the delete conversation action under 'Options' rather than the three dots.
  7. Hi Bill I have another question; what paint did you use for the deck brown? Regards Mick
  8. I think the worry is that non-metallic weapons can be printed, which will not be picked up on security scanners.
  9. Thanks Bill. I might also see about building a case for it as well.
  10. Bill I have another question. What is the length, width and height please? Looking for a suitable storage box for when I build mine. Cheers Mick
  11. I built this for a vintage classic build my club held. The DR1 was a simple build but the F2b was certainly a challenge although they came out well enough.
  12. Thanks Bill that is very comprehensive. I bought the photo etch sets for both the carrier and the aircraft. When I get to build it I hope it comes out as good as yours.
  13. Awesome! and an inspiration for the kit I have up in the loft although I only have 48 aircraft to build! 😁 Are there any gotchas I need to know about the kit before I start it? Mick
  14. That's coming along nicely. I feel your pain with the Oerlikon barrels, I built Takom's Chieftain marksman that uses the same barrels. Oh in answer to your query, the return rollers do have rubber tyres.
  15. Thanks Bertie. I feel a Tamiya kit or one of my Eduard Wildcats kits is needed after building these! 😀 The base base is from Coastal kits glued onto a piece of plywood with some window beading round it.
  16. Thanks Steve. I didn't realise that the kits were so old - the f2b had 1957 moulded on the inside of the fuselage!
  17. Thanks chaps. I remember building the the Sopwith Camel as a kid and being very disappointed with the size of it. It was the only WW1 aircraft I built. Good point Jungle I did hand paint some Windsor and Newtons acrylic matt varnish on them but it didn't matt down. I was going to try some Mr Color but forgot so thank you for reminding me. The roundels are not the kit ones - they were more grey than blue.
  18. My local club held a group build recently and the theme was anything from the Airfix classic range. I picked HMS Fearless but, just in case I stalled on it and was in danger of not finishing in time , I also bought the Bristol F2b and Fokker DR1 Dogfighting Double kit. I managed to finish the Fearless, including adding the etch railings and ladders and start this one before time ran out. Looking at the box art I decided to replicate the scene. Here is the box art: and here is the finished kit: Cheers Mick
  19. Thanks chaps. The only doubt I have is that I have yet to see pictures of an A3 version which is the vehicle used for the C-RAM and there are very few pictures of the C-RAM vehicle itself all a distant shot of the right side.
