  1. Lovely job! It looks fantastic. I have this kit in my stash and really hope it comes out as well as yours. Miguel
  2. Thank you @Toryu The front sections of the wingtip pods contain the F-89D's sole weapon, fifty-two "Mighty Mouse" FFAR rockets. Miguel
  3. Thank you very much @reini I had a look at my notes and there were a series of issues, partly due to unclear instructions. My positioning of the cockpit complicated the placing of the underside part a bit but I managed to fix it by sanding down plastic on both parts. The fit of parts wasn't perfect and nearly all joints needed some filling and sanding especially the underside. Some areas needed a little trimming to improve the join. In my notes I conclude that it's a stunning kit let down by poor fit of parts and poor instructions. I hope this helps. Miguel
  4. Thank you very much @Andrés S., @RidgeRunner and @72modeler Mike, I can imagine. It's massive in 1:72 scale!! Miguel
  5. Here is my Revell 1:72 Northrop F-89D-40 Scorpion which I completed back in 2003. It represents 52-1894, “FV-894”, of the 75th Fighter Interceptor Sqn, 23rd F I Wing, USAF based at Presque Isle AFB, Maine, in 1958. I built it OOB. If I recall correctly, the metal finish was by a Tamiya spray can and the red areas were airbrushed. Metallic paints were dry-brushed on various panels to give different shades. The rest was painted by brush. As always, thanks for looking and all comments welcome Miguel
  6. Fantastic job! Looks great!! Miguel
  7. That's the old Matchboix kit? Really!? 😲 Outstanding and superb work ther. Very well done! Miguel
  8. Nice job on that old kit!! Miguel
  9. Here is my Eduard 1:144 Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21MT "Fishbed K" which I built back in 2012. It represents "Blue 15", Serial Number 96.40.15, Dolgoye Ledovo, Russia. The MT was intended as an export version of the SMT but due to the loss in performance of the latter, only 15 MTs were built and all were used in the Soviet Union. The kit was built OOB and panted with brush. Only a final light coat of matt varnish was airbrushed. Thanks for looking Miguel
  10. Fantastic job!! It's nice to see kits of these minor types. Well done!! Miguel
  11. Superb job!! Very well finished!! After having built two of the old Airfix kits long ago, the latter with some corrections, I intend to replace it with this new kit of which I have one in the stash. I hope it comes out as well as yours! Miguel
  12. Thank you very much everyone. It wouldn't be this particular aircraft as it was shot down in 1943. I love tropical schemes on all aircraft but this was one I really wanted to do. The Spitfire looks great in it. I have another Italeri kit in my stash to build one with the Aboukir filter. The one with real shape issues was the Italeri Mk.XI kit. The nose is too short. I built one fixing the flaw with... an ex-Matchbox Spitfire nose! No kidding! Miguel
  13. Thank you very much @Madmaks and @binbrook87 The main scheme paints were from PollyScale so it was PollyScale Azure Blue. Miguel
  14. Here is my Italeri 1:72 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb "Trop" in the markings of EP706/T-L flown by Sqn Ldr Maurice Stephens, No 249 Sqn RAF, from Takali, Malta, in October 1942, which I built back in 2006. The kit was built OOB and painted and varnished with airbrush. Thanks for looking and all comments, as usual, are welcome. Miguel
  15. Thank you very much @binbrook87 and @F-32. Miguel
  16. Here are a pair of 1:144 Bf 109F-4/Z Trops by Sweet which I built back in 2008. These were a delight to build. They were fully painted and varnished with brush. First, "Yellow 14" Wk-Nr 12593, flown by Leutnant Hans-Joachim Marseille of 3./JG27 from Martuba, Libya in February 1942. Second, "Yellow 1", flown by Oberleutnant Franz Götz, Staffelkapitan of 9./JG53 from Martuba, Libya, circa June 1942. Thanks for looking Miguel
