Hi OutcastJoel. Yes it is the Oerlikon tubs. Very small and fiddly. Its not to big, I have Trumpy 1/350 USS Nimitz, USS Kitty Hawk and 1/200 USS Iowa to do. Now they're big lol. Here they are al painted and fitted, also made a start on the Turrets. Number 1 is ready for paint. Chris

Thank you all for the nice comments. The structure is airbrushed first in grey then mostly hand painted camo but the hull and major parts are Completely masked and airbrushed. I have done the tops for the funnels and now started the weapons. First had problems with the PE. I shaved off the plastic to make the discs and got the PE part. Wrapped it around and it was short. So i attempted to file them down but failed. So Got some 3mm dowel and made 1mm discs to do them. I am pleased with the result of these considering the size. Glued fingers and parts and tooth pick to everything in the process. Chris

I have been away for a while moving home etc, and have started back at it. I have got this for over last few weeks. I have the tops of the funnels to do then onto the weaponry or the life boats which have many PE parts. Here are the pics. Chris[/size]

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Been busy doing minuscule work. I've been adding more etch and generally building up the towers. Had no major faults or parts missing. The Eduard instructions are very good but you do need to go between the them and then tamiya ones many times over and over to make sure you get them right. Chris

Hi all, Having started a FW190 but had many ships sat waiting and I was itching to build another so the plane has taken a back seat. I'm build this with the Eduard Big Ed set and wooden decks. The paint scheme Will be the disruptive colours. Only thing is the ship is being built as 1945 refit. So paint won't match the year, I'm not after too much accuracy but a nice looking model to display at home. This is my first Tamiya kit so hopefully it will be a good one. I started by drilling the portholes out then cleaning the decks up. Chris

Thanks for looking in, I'm looking into the boats. As for the screws I've fitted them now. Found in the draw when clearing the sprues away. Chris -
I decided to pick this one out of my stash to give me something small to do. Plus I haven't built a WW2 German plane before so is a first. The Kit is a few yrs old now but quality is good. Here are the start pics for you . The cockpit looks dark but it actually isn't. Chris

Hi guys. I finished this build last week. It was started 8 years ago but has been on and off the work bench for many years. But so glad to see the back of it as it was a terrible kit. I haven't installed the Lifeboats as I lost some parts after many house moves over the years. Chris
