  1. @Lord Riot Love them V bombers, certainly on my to do list as my experience grows. Fellow rugby fan, I see. @Corsairfoxfouruncle @lasermonkeythank you, started to look for a few of those kits. I grew up in the Peterborough area close to RAF Wittering, saw plenty of Harriers in the sky.
  2. @Corsairfoxfouruncle Dennis you’re a star, think US Marines Grey over White looks the ticket. Any recommendations for kits. I’ll be modelling in flight so cockpit and wheel details not so important. Love corsairs, intruders, did they have a Harrier AV8??? Do you have a paint shopping list, not just for the grey and white, plus all those extra fluids and fillers......don’t have to be too professional. @Scimitar just going to limit myself to Cold War Jets for now.
  3. Just joined so I’m just starting out in this fascinating passtime. I’ve been looking to get started for a while, but needed the right excuse. I’m due an operation soon to repair my ankle. I’ll be in a cast for 6 weeks and could need 3 months off work......so I will have lots of time to kill. Can anyone recommend a number of kits 4-6 that can be built using pretty much the same paints using a similar simple colour scheme. Just to get me going without breaking the bank. Happy to hunt down some oop gems online. also recommendations on paints, brushes etc. I’ve a good number of hand tools, side cutters, needle files, knives and even have one of those cheap Revell airbrush kits. I’m leaning towards 1-72 scale as I’d like to standardise my collection and want to model everything from Harriers to SR-71s. I prefer wheels up, yeah yeah I know, but I just love the look of the beautiful lines of these old birds so I feel 1/72 would be right for me. Plus as my skills improve it will be more of a challenge to add detail and realism. Cheers all.
  4. Hi guys, just saying hello from sunny Norfolk. Like many, I’ve not build a model since my childhood some time ago. Now my kids have grown up and moved out I find I now have more time, space and money......funny that! Now off to the Cold War Aircraft section to ask first noob question. cheers.
