Most likely if you build it you would be quite happy, however don't expect your first build perfect: so do not sweat too much about it. If you think this is too expensive for a first kit you can try other Tamiya kits (avoid their 1/48 Harrier FRS.1: many of us bought into the cool boxart and Tamiya name, however it is a horrible from Tamiya kit... and exception). Very cheap one and easy is Tamiya 1/72 Skyray https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-60741-douglas-f4d-1-skyray--103143, quite easy one (however on expensive side) is their 1/48 F-117 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-61059-lockheed-f-117a-nighthawk--123413. Another kinda newbie friendly set of the kits are modern Academy. One thing about Academy is that they claim that some of the kits (Phantom and Super Hornet) claim that they do not need glue and might not need to paint it, however I still use Tamiya Extra Thin glue there and you still might need to paint it. Some of the kits might have nasty a molding line on the canopy. I would probably ignore it on your first kit: no way your first kit is going to be perfect, however with more experience you might try to remove it on your next kits. Good luck and have fun!

Mi-24 naming is a mess. In short it is something like: The first Mi-24A was the one that had plain looking front cabin, had issues with visibility and b/c of that was produced in small quantities and I am not sure it was ever exported Mi-24D -- was the version with the redesigned bubble type canopy (and some other upgrades as well) we all know and love, export name Mi-25. Mi-24V -- basically Mi-24D with the updated weapon targeting system that supports Shturm antitank missiles. Export name Mi-35. Was widely exported to Warsaw Pact countries during USSR years and to some countries by Russia after fall of USSR. Mi-24P -- basically Mi-24V, however they replaced the the gun on the chin with the static 30mm cannon on the right side. Not sure if it was exported. I think this is the one that is on the first picture in this topic Mi-24VM -- heavily modified Mi-24V which has different main rotor, tail rotor (if I remember right both rotors are from Mi-28), shorter wings, nonretractable landing gear. Entered service in 00s. Export name Mi-35M. Lot of other version, however my favorite one by South African company Super Hind with quite a bit of avionics, weapon and targeting systems upgrades: Hope this helps.

I don't believe Czech Republic had Mi-35M. Either way Hind on the picture is not Mi-35M: M have a fixed gear, however this one is having retractable.

I've heard they are changing paint/finish recently to a normal looking paint however hadn't have a chance to see such. Last time I've seen F-35A (and F-22) was in 2019 (few were parked so I could do a full walkaround and 2 were flying, they were from demo teams though) and they definetely had metallic sheen to it.

Mi-35M has fixed landing gear and is produced in small quantities. I remeber few years back there was a video on Zvezda channel (the Russian MoD channel) about this version: they claimed that by making gear fixed they saved quite a bit of weight.

I am not sure if there was such rule for closing everything: Yak-40 had no main gear doors

Well, as far as I know there is no real info on if this all was one plane, multiple, one specific or just a legend at this point as a symbol you can use that decal or you can mask small piece that the is there where trident is. Also Ukraine is known to use MiG-29 in the color scheme of Ukrainian Falcons at the beginning of war in Donbass in 2014 (cannot find this video now) as well as I've heard that one of Ukrainian Falcons was recently repaired and might be used for the service so you can get away with assuming that #57 was used for that operation. It would be really shame if there are no weapons there. I did not realize it could be such ill intent and was assuming it is more of typical for Chinese manufacturers bad color scheme research (the worst example for me so far was the early packaging of the Trumpeter 1/144 Tu-95MS where instead of Russian flag they had basically a hybrid of Russian and Ukrainian: from top to bottom white/blue/yellow... They corrected that in later boxings but I had the early one 🙄). Please let us know what is actually there when you get the kit.

I just saw the GWH facebook page with the announcement of this kit... It looks like they are having only decal option for the airshow bird from about a 10 years ago (#57 with the trident on the back) So to portray a "normal" MiG-29 either different masks/decals required or at least pixelated camo needs to be painted instead of trident... What a bummer b/c looks like kits are just hitting US and I was preparing to get one... Now trying to figure out what to do with that...

Looks like rarely but it was done: PS: I've seen a lot of pictures of Iranian F-14 without the tanks (without missiles as well) so that's another possibility.

I am not sure about modern Ukrainian MiG-29s but before 2010 at least the ones that were based close to the town where I grew up were stock 9-13. From the recent videos it looks like they installed some instruments in the cockpit. Not sure if there are more. Weapons in the Academy kit are remotely looking like weapons but if I remember right are wrong size. Maybe you can get a leftover missiles from other kits (Academy Su-27 also has wrong size weapons) or go all in and install HARM 😜 Not sure about the pylon for that one though. When (and if) you are going to be converting 9-12 to 9-13 you would also need to change slightly the wingtips. HARM armed MiG-29:

I think you are quite out of luck on the single seater b/c if I remember right Academy MiG-29 suppose to be 9-12, however Ukraine had 9-13s and there is no easy way to correct it: 9-12 has the spine that is quite in line with the canopy where 9-13 have a so called "hump" (not as prominent and huge as SMT, but it is still there). (Old picture but shows that even old Academy kit that was dedicated to this bird had the issue)

Scale is 1/48 and this is the kit I am talking about https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-85-5720-lockheed-sr-71-a-blackbird--1409284 It is the same as the one by Revell Germany except it does not have a stand and engine and in US it is quite cheaper than the other one. I tried to search for SR-71B on the scalemates and ebay but the only things I was getting are the good old Italeri kits (that are still going for insane prices) and Caracal Decals sheet...

Does anyone know if there is a conversion set to convert Revell SR-71A to B?

Nice build! Really like how it looks. I know my local hobby store going to get few of these and hopefully I would be able to grab one. PS: In regards to the top color: it seems to be bad translation on the ICM side. I just looked up the instruction sheet online and it states "Бiлий холодний" for the top color and should be translated as "Cool White" (basically white with a bit of gray). I have no idea why did they translate it as "Offwhite" which is usually associated with warmer tone.

Nice little i-16. How were the decals? I am bit hesitant to build mine since decals that came with it are more pink than red.

Love it. A beutiful work! Huge "Yellow Submarine" fan since i was 3 or so (also this helped me learn English before school). Up until recent car had a small replica hanging from my rearview mirror (current have cameras and was complaining about reflection in windshield.

I think I've read somewhere that italeri F-19 was based off some sightings of F-117 (I remember building one as kid in 90th and thinking that F-19 was a real airplane and F-117 model was a "lego toy for little kids" ....) On a note of the fake models I always wondered what is Zvezda's Ka-58 based off? At that time the issues with Ka-50 were already understood and Ka-52 was at least in tests as well as Mi-28N.... So where did Zvezda got this guy from?
