  1. Yes it is an old Tamiya Grant! Being near death drove me back to my deep youth. I had been buying up old Tamiya kits. I find them soothing these days. Look for all of those to be finished soon!
  2. Thanks for the reply. Now I want to make it up as a Canadian Army quad and 25 pound ! 🤣
  3. Well, I pulled some started kits out. Plan was to begin paint on the Tiger but that didn’t pan out. These are going to be dealt with soon . Two kits I decided not to show as they are “special”
  4. They can have the ones that fly over my house in the night. (I live near where the South Carolina Army National Guard trains CH47 pilots to fly at night. The magic is gone for me and the Chinook 🤬)
  5. The Canadian Quad gun tractor a fine old kit from yesteryear sits in my build queue and I have a paint question. Presumably the Quad would have been painted in a dark green in Canada then had #61 Light stone applied in a divisional repair shop , correct? If so would the interior and under hood- correction bonnet🙄 -areas be left in the dark green? This of course assumes the Quad in question was delivered for use in North Africa. Well, how thorough were the Royal Army painters? (and would the Canadian army use Royal Army paint standards for the green?)
  6. Hello from further down the coast!
  7. Very nice looking Ki-84. I have a soft spot for IJN and IJAAF aircraft. I like it đź‘Ť
  8. Now that’s a good looking Jagdpanther!
  9. Dennis thanks for the encouragement! I have been a kit collector for the last 20 years so my resolve to complete this one has kept me from going down too many rabbit holes. For example in the past I would shelve the kit and wait on the exact RAL coloUr to arrive. I would then move on to the next kit I’d hit a snag with and the cycle would repeat. Well no more! On this Tiger I elected to go for a complete build. So no major modifications no exotic paint scheme no trying to make a 50 year old kit what it isn’t. And sitting there complete in primer it looks pretty good to me! More pics to come!
  10. My daughter insists on stopping by to see “her” M60 tank. And she knows drive sproket and road wheel and 105 rifled gun...
  11. Thank you. It’s the very old Tamiya kit from the late 1960s. Both it and my skills are pitifully wanting compared to the other builds on the site. I have cleaned up the wheels, completed the turret, and almost finished the exhaust system so far. Hopefully in the next day or so I can post some paint progress soon.
  12. Nice work thus far!
  13. To correct that mark l’d smear a mud mixture over it. Lots of American tank crews did that because those stars made great aiming points!
  14. I agree. Those two plus any ELO albums are the only ones I can start up and not touch till they’re done.
  15. Very very good work. I really like how everything looks functional because the weathering matches use. Good Job!
  16. Hello all! While recovering from my pulmonary emboli I started up the old Tamiya I ausf E. I’m still pretty run down and most of the work done has been done in small 10-15 minute work sessions. I’m building the kit from the box but making a few refinements along the way. I had this kit ages ago as a kid so I’m looking at it differently these days. One of the refinements has been to thin the smoke discharger brackets. They still need more thinning but look heaps better than before. I also filled some holes for a grab handle only the Bovington Tiger had and did away with the front spare track bracket. Now should I build a Citadel das Reich Tiger or a 501st tiger? 🤔
  17. Thank you I was eyeing a cheap one on evilBay. I’ll save my shekels for the Tamiya.
  18. Yes both good artists? Do you like Enigma?
  19. Does anyone have any experience with the Ark Valentine kit? It looks nice on the sprues but any ideas on how it is to build?
  20. Hello Geoff ! I too just joined today!
