  1. ???? Just wondering! Interior green as far I know. Built lots of them. All around Tirpitz raids. Never heard about black! What source it is? Happy modelling
  2. Hallo Again some steps farther. The fuselage halfs are glued and filled and sanded. The grey areas are sprayed again. The fuselage PC 10 color will be next. A lot of detail work is on. Each bracket has to be sort out and masked and sprayed. Each time I forget some, and so it takes some time. The wings are prepaired for the spraying of roundels. Well, so it goes on ... Happy modelling
  3. Hallo Some steps further. The instructions are extremely difficult to read. Components are often very similar, but they have differences. Here, however, these components are shown in such a simplified way that no distinctions can be seen. Some nodes of the framework allow two positions to be glued. No hint. Even at the critical node of the cockpit, where the central wing strut is attached, there is no special reference or detail. But what do I say, hardly any of our well-known companies actually have the ability to create useful building instructions. What am I complaining about, it's always the same. Happy modelling
  4. Great! Me too. Also always on aircraft, and thought the same. Now I did already some of this tanks. You can see it in our forum. I fell in love, so many tank kits with interior from MiniArt, ReyField and Takom are waiting for me. Interesting field, I wonder about the details in plastic, never seen in a cockpit before. Only MiniBase with the Su-33 is going to achieve the same quality. Happy modelling
  5. Hallo Just to bridge the time gap of getting my oil dry on parts of my R.E.8 I will build this engines for display. Since most of them I built already with my aircraft from WNW, it is just to relax. Happy modelling
  6. Hallo After drilling, cutting and test fitting, I sprayed all parts, except flying surfaces and wheels. I also prepared all rigging holes as well all preparations for control wires too. Including the elevator. With the link from https://thevintageaviator.co.nz/image/tid/206 I got all information needed. So I used oil to make the wood realistic. I just differed the shades in wood more, to see more detail. Now it must get dry. In between I will build Aero-Engines from WW1 from Roden. Look at my post. Happy modelling
  7. I think my photos are gone! I did something wrong. So I will put them again.
  8. Thanks for this info. Did not know this. Can you give me a link? Happy modelling
  9. Hallo This is my next project. The funny looking RE.8 from WNW. Since this model requires some skill for rigging, it is the perfect challenge for me. I did already the R.A.F. B.E.2c in 1/48 some time ago. Anyway, I am looking forward what this build will offer to me. In any case, I like this challenge in rigging. The DH 2 from WNW is ahead (from Roden already done) and also the Bristol Fighter. The Fe.2b is already done. You can see it under RIP some time ago. Happy modelling
  10. Hallo This is one of my British a/c from WW1 from WNW. As for so many kits from WNW, the instruction is not quite accurate. The same will accompany now at the next build, the RE.8 and afterward the F2b Bristol Fighter. You may also have a look on my WIP. All insignia are sprayed. Happy Modelling
  11. Thanks so far. All of the listed kits are already in my stash. So, if I listen to you all, I will build them, one after the next. Since I jump on some different scenes, WW1 from WNW & Roden / tanks with interior / and Su-27 family..... Happy modelling
  12. Hallo I have a question: Does anybody of you all have experience with this kits? Built or giving up. Where are the flaws and quirks? Or are there none? All my Sukhoi 27 family kits in 48 scale. Su-27 Flanker B Hobby Boss Su-27 UB Eduard Su-30 MKK Hobby Boss Su-33 Kinetic Su-33 MiniBase Su-34 Hobby Boss Su-35 S Kitty Hawk J-11 Hobby Boss Happy modelling
  13. Hallo Tommy This was my nickname! In English lessons I had a teacher who flew as crewmember in a He-111 over London. He was shot down. Became POW and learned English. After the war he taught English as a teacher at our school. Since my last name starts with TOM... I became Tommy! Greetings from Vienna

    Hello.

Wellcome on board. Greetings from Vienna
  16. A hair-raising story: From The New York Times Magazine, but almost nothing changed until today: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/27/magazine/air-force-hypoxia-pilots-navy.html There is a major blind spot in handling a/c. As well the ground procedure as well as maintenance procedures concerning oxygen are far away for a safe flight. The oxygen supply system in military a/c is a today sever problem. In consideration of the amount of money which is spent in weapon system and aircraft development it seems that this subject is neglected, there is no money or no will to solve it properly. Finally, it curbs and weakens the moral of flying personal heavily. It did not change much. Even in the last two years we had several losses, even on our beloved F-35. What do you think?
  17. Do you also build WW1 a/c? And which ones? Tell me!
  18. Hallo 80 eyelets min. I have to do. The wings are not glued, just the top centerwing. Well, so next time at RFI. Happy modelling
  19. Hallo In some kits for jets you have the chance to show and see the open cone with the radar installation inside. Since I have no clue about modern radar technology, how the equipment really looks like, nor how does it work. So my question to you, can you help me a little bit further to understand. Basically I understand the WW2 installations on RAF and German aircraft and also the navigation aids. Which signals give the radar equipment really? Just the modern types: F-15 onward to present day. AN/APG, Euroradar CAPTOR, RP-21 Sapfir, N036 Byelka The comparison to US, European and Soviet radars. What means actually MTBF? Which parts break down if the Failure occurs? Well, I am curios. Happy modelling
  20. This is the best modelling tip, since a long time !
