  1. Maybe you look at this link: https://www.armouredcarriers.com/debunking-slade-and-worths-armoured-carrier-essays/2014/5/30/debunking-slade-and-worths-armoured-carrier-essays https://www.armouredcarriers.com/projects If still questions not answered, so read the books from Eric Brown. Happy modelling
  2. Hallo If anybody wants FAA questions answered: Takes you very much time! It is worth to read it all. https://www.armouredcarriers.com/projects Here is it. Beside this: BOOKS from Erik Brown Wings On My Sleeve Wings of the navy: Flying allied carrier aircraft of World War Two Viewed from the Cockpit...many books —— (1983). Wings of the Weird & Wonderful. 1. Airlife. ISBN 0-906393-30-2. —— (1985). Wings of the Weird & Wonderful. 2. Airlife. ISBN 0-906393-44-2. —— (1987). Wings of the Navy: Flying Allied Carrier Aircraft of World War Two. Naval Institute Press. ISBN 978-0-87021-995-5. —— (1989). Duels in the Sky: World War II Naval Aircraft in Combat. Airlife. ISBN 1-85310-046-3. —— (2002). Wings of the Luftwaffe. Airlife. ISBN 978-1-85310-413-8. —— (2006). Wings on my Sleeve. Weidenfeld & Nicolson. ISBN 978-0-297-84565-2. If you read it, you get a glimpse for aircraft and carrier ops. Nice reading! I read all this books and the LINK above. It took ´me a long time! Happy modelling
  3. Hallo Please check special FAA requirements! There are some different specificatons from US aircraft. Wings shortend and some other detail! I can search for it, it takes me one day. Happy modelling
  4. Hallo This is my second Sd.Kfz.6. This time in the pioneer version, to show more the design and look of this half track. All the half track were the backbone of the fast army movements. All was straight from the box. For painting only Mr.Gunze C range. Well, hope you like it too. Happy modelling
  5. If I read all this types, from start to end, I am breathless. If I consider all the UAVs too, all this effort. I think it's a shame that the world's air forces have been drawn into this filthy, endless and ultimately most pointless war of all wars. In this case the UAVs, the snipers of the sky, are particularly inglorious. Were there also refusals of orders from the pilots? That would be interesting! Happy modelling P.S: I hope, that no war will be there in the future! Anybody who has seen a war, will not want a war. War is a tool that comes into play when language fails. Or you are unwilling to speak, listen and understand.
  6. I asume, with your kit, the Revell moulds would have reached the end of their lifetime. Whoever did the injection moulding process. Rebox: As I understand it: The carton, box and instruction printed on paper as well decals are from Eduard. Happy modelling
  7. Excellent! That is, what to say. Happy modelling
  8. Nice built. Weathering well done. Frightning subject, in real. Happy modelling
  9. Looks good. How are the details? Overall, in comparison with photos from original cockpits, gear detail, cowling detail? Usually the cowling had a wide gap to the cockpit section. The special detail of the fuselage rear section: the overleap of sheet metal? I asume not done, since it is very difficult tl generate in geometry. Can you make some close ups? Happy modelling
  10. Just to ask: Is it a Revell kit ftom origin? Yes or no, please. I built all the Doras a while ago, I had a mix from all companies for my Papageien Staffel. I got a headache, at this time. But Tamiya was no better. The landing gear is wrong from the angle! I know today no proper Dora kit at all. Maybe someone else. Actually, I have Miniart experience: There is a big hughe difference in quality! For Dragon kits, I would agree! Shallow location holes, wrong in diameter, or no one at all! Happy modelling
  11. Japanes yes, but here I can mention, automatic translation goes quite often in the abyss! Lag 3 vs. I-16 Question to our Junchan in Tokyo: This are old or present day writings? This os a big difference! Happy modelling
  12. Think also on production: The tube cage as a subassembly group. Could be manufactured somewhere. By any factory, which is qualified. The calculation was easier and perfect. The other way round, calculation was possible, but far away from perfect. Hawker did right so. I saw this cage with full installation. How easy and fast you can work so! Also you can control each cable and wire! Today, at the F-15, at old days, the Japanese Shinden, is designed like this. How to maintain a cockpit? You safe lots of hours with Hawker's designs. Happy modelling
  13. The tubular sections: From production easy, cheap, and to handle from low skilled workers. I do not knoe exactly, I assume that GB also lacked skilled workforce at this time! You can use welding robots of the early designs too. This was done in Germany to incooperate Russian prisoner of wars. The production has to be taken in account. Higher technical ideas, had to wait at this time. Happy modelling
  14. I do not know. But your question is superb! Because you can ask about all details. There are so many, most modeller have seldom a clue what is all the antennas, probes etc! This topic should we blow up and widen! Get on ! Or let me know and I do it! Happy modelling
  15. Hallo I just want to ask! No sure answer yet. When not, what was the reason why not? When yes, which sort of missions. In Lybia they were there, some years ago. Or did they show up defficies there? Happy modelling
  16. To add: Just on my recent HB kit, the Sd.Kfz.6: In comparison to Dragon (my 251 was one), HB is molding more detail, specially for attachment areas. So you know definitly where to place, in which direction to place. Just a detail, which may cause some headache, otherwise. The building of a clean halftrack, is to me like building an aircarft without payload. So, you can see the shape. Like a lady in a bikini. Happy modelling
  17. Thank you! I built some recovery tanks too. They are underestimated. Great challenge too. If you get a good plastic kit for the 116 trailer and maybe the cran, the 100 too. The supply and maintenance of tanks is an interesting field. Happy modelling
  18. Like your doing. I am on a Sd.Kfz.6 now also in WIP. The 8 and 9 afterward. Do you have any idea, where to get a bigger trailer? The trailer from Das Werk, be careful, the instruction. See my trailer post! With a Faun. Happy modelling
  19. For this matter on the F-4 I have all original docs from early US-Navy. If you have any request, let me know! Happy modelling
  20. For my project I got one 54 A & 55 A modern from Miniart. All Russian build with interior. So, the answer is to build ramps! Much cheaper, as anything else! Oh, fight in mountain terrain prohibited? In many ways, you can find such funny ill-logic items on all systems. If you know ot, it is easy to counter them. Just on modern systems: displays go off at high temperatures. Display will not show you anything in bright light. Happy modelling
  21. Oh nice done! Great build. Just noticed: Stancels? Was this F-4 almost blank? Happy modelling
  22. Nice built! If you need a challenge: Wing fold... A never ending story... I did most with Wingfold. Happy modelling
  23. Hallo A few steps further. This time I have the entire chain in gray, which was often the case. The pillows I completely sprayed over. That was on purpose here. I have deliberately deviated from the order according to the instructions. Each time I had problems with the front fenders and the instrument panel. That is now solved. I have to be a little more careful when building further, but I prefer to have fitting problems afterwards. Happy modelling
  24. Creepy Pete, & all the others thank you so much! As you mention, I asume the aircrafts in action were like a flying supermarket ready to deliver on request. It is a silly comparison, but it looks like that. Target areas in valleys or mountain ranges too? Or both? Were the air forces from all perticipating states present, or just from some countries? Majority of weapons were guided and unguided bombs. Was strafing also on? I start to get a tiny picture of this warfare. Happy modelling
