  1. The Vallejo says it's water based acrylic. So I've been diluting it with water. Is diluting the wash with water okay? Also can anyone recommend an enamel based gloss coat that can be shot through an airbrush?
  2. It was put over a semi-gloss finish. Does it have to be a gloss finish?
  3. I tried pin washing models with this stuff but it leaves a lot of tide marks, even when I whisk away the extra paint with a clean brush. I tried diluting it with various amounts of water and still, pinwashing would leave tide marks. Now I'm trying just a full wash, layering a thin, slightly diluted coat of the wash over the entire model. I'm waiting for it to dry, but I thought I'd ask the forums if and how they used vallejo's model wash.
  4. What material makes the most realistic smoke? People usually seem to go for cotton balls but the threads are too short and curled to mimic smoke perfectly.
  5. This is sort of the effect I was hoping, but some suspect that this is just photoshopped in.
  6. Thanks! I'll have to figure out how to post pictures next time.
  7. Thanks, I'll follow your advice, but before I do that, these model tanks have a lot of dust and crap on them that built up over time. I'm just wondering what the best way to get rid of all the crap without damaging the paint already on them?
  8. I have 2 tanks that I painted, but never properly weathered and pinwashed, yadda yadda, so I want to go back and finish the job. But do I need to do anything special to the models to prevent damaging the bare paint (not covered in flat clear or future or whatnot), so that I can weather them?
  9. Anyone ever try making particle effects, other than smoke and fire of course, I've seen those before. I'm thinking of making a diorama where a tank and infantry are coming under machine gun fire and I wanted to model bullet impacting armor and dirt along with the infantry returning fire.
  10. Here is my model, any constructive criticism is encouraged. https://photos.app.goo.gl/NsaYUarory558p4z7
