  1. Thanks for sharing this, Hugh. As well as being a very useful forum there was a link to what turned out to be the WEM paint chip pages that contain accurate colours for not only Kreigsmarine ships but also all manner of other goodies. Tony
  2. Just LOVE that TB2 diorama, I bet Derek Meddings would have too. Sad I know but it's still one of my favourite shows even after 43 years! Tony
  3. Hi Ale I recently bought this kit and I'm almost certain that there are two options on the decal sheet and the second one is two tone grey. For interest, NeoMega do a good replacement cockpit for this kit which is not too expensive and makes a big difference to the model. Hope that helps Tony
  4. Please accept my apologies, Phil, I thought that the top scheme was a scheme on it's own rather than the basis for the Baltic/Atlantic schemes.I didn't know about the Prinz Eugen, either. I agree with you that Revell would have done a cheaper, better fit (judging on the differences between the dry fit of the new Bismarck compared with the Trumpeter Hood) kit but at least, like the Hood, the kit will be out there. I'm really enjoying reading your builds and will be keeping a keen eye on this one as it develops. Tony
  5. I'd love to do this but I wouldn't be able to get in in 20 minutes let alone out in 20 seconds! Good luck to the winner, I hope he/she enjoy themselves. Tony
  6. There are some 550 plus plastic parts in the box, a choice of metal barrels and shells and several sheets of etch...... should keep me out of trouble for a while! Tony
  7. Have a look at this, it may help. http://p2vneptune.com/m02_72.shtml Tony
  8. Superb! I bet the guys at Hornby would love it. Tony
  9. Brilliant. That should help me to unravel the instructions! Tony
  10. Yes, please. Thanks in advance Daz Tony
  11. I think I have details of this on an Aeromaster aftermarket sheet. I'll look it out and see if it's any help. Tony
  12. I think that's the Magna kit. Not for the faint-hearted but I believe it builds up into a good looking model. Tony
  13. I've just had a look at the rigging diagram on that page; anyone know a good seamstress? Tony
  14. As per the painting guide in the instructions? I think it's section 4, just after the hull construction parts. Tony
  15. Tamiya Nato Black (XF69) is a very good colour to use as it is a black but lacks the starkness normally associated that colour. i use it for post war RAF cockpits, WWII bomber undersurfaces and tyres generally. Revell 9 anthracite could be another good alternative; the latest range of acrylics are excellent and good value for money, too. Tony
  16. Very impressive build, gives me something toi aspire to. Purely an observation, the only thing I would change is the mantlet cover as British Centurions were never operated without one. AFV Club do one as an extra; it's not expensive but I wish the s**s had included it in the kit! As an aside, where did you get your Comet from? I've been looking for one of those for ages. Tony
  17. I know what you mean about the problems with getting black to look right but that looks pretty impressive to me. Tony
  18. Thanks for that Phil, I too wondered how you built your bases, they certainly look effective. I have built the Tamiya Bismarck and have added the Academy and Revell kits to my stash. Am I right in thinking that there is a third option (entry to service) included in the Revell instructions? Tony
  19. Hi Antoine. The box states 37 but there are parts and details on the instructions to enable either an 18, 36 or 37, depending on your wants, to be built. Whatever way you go. it really is one of the best kits I have ever seen. Tony
  20. The paint is light around the exhausts due to petrol staining. AFAIK you are correct in saying "Prune" was a Mk I but be careful as there were two "Prunes", the only difference in the scheme being the "II" painted above and slightly to the right of the name as you look at it. I have the Modellers datafile on the Lanc so if you have any further queries please ask. Tony
  21. Outstanding work! A really impressive model of a woderful aircraft. Tony
  22. I picked one of these up at the Brampton show yesterday along with three british tagets to blow up with it! I know that some Dragon kits have been accused of being over engineered but this is a beauty. Instrument decals have been pre-set into the clear plastic parts and the quality of the moulding is incredible. Anyone built one? Tony
  23. The green should actually be dark slate grey, Humbrol 224. The comparison chart does not show a Revell equivalent but that of course doesn't mean there isn't one! Tony
  24. John, Thanks for putting things right and apologies for the misinformation. It's good to hear that both the Migs are in line for a bit of TLC. Also good news about the approach road, too. Tony
