  1. I've got one of those to do. What's always held me back is the accuracy of the colour as the appearance seems to change depending on the light. I love all Gerry Andersons stuff (including "The Protectors" that so often seems to get bad press). Thunderbirds will always be my number 1 though. Good luck with the build. Tony
  2. Bet that looks impressive! What did you do about the engines? Tony
  3. Hello everyone. A friend at model club would like to build the Revell/Matchbox kit as Halifax BII LW337. Details of the codes carried have been found but does anyone know of any available references to nose art carried in the aircraft? Many thanks in advance Tony
  4. Superb build, Greg. That cockpit looks fentastic. Tony
  5. can't wait to see it in "the Flesh". Outstanding work, Spence. Tony
  6. Too right, Phil, although I have to admit that although I mainly build aircraft recently four 1/350 ships (3 Bismarcks and a Tirpitz) and a number of armour kits have slipped into the build pile. If it moves, build it I say! Tony
  7. Ok. A bit strange though including an etch panel with holes and nothing to fill them. By the way, Hannants have sold out of this already! Tony
  8. Thanks for sharing these Chris. Does the kit include an acetate sheet for the instrument panel? Tony
  9. Great build Mattie as always. Did you use the kit gear or have you bought the Heritage replacement set? Tony
  10. It's a long time since I've seen an RAF Hercules in that scheme. Great pictures, thanks for sharing. Tony
  11. As kits go the Hasegawa ones are some of the best on the market but they are expensive and that is a major drawback. If you are not in a hurry though it is fairly likely that the kit will be re-issued in a Revell box for around half the price. The Heinkel 111 is a good example of this, being £25 plus in the original Hasegawa box and around £14 in the Revell box. Hope that helps Tony
  12. Drewe/Bill, thanks for the correction. I'm not sure why I thought the two pairs of missiles were the same because they very definitely aren't! Tony
  13. I've just had a look at the review on CM and also the stuff on the Trumpeter website. Cockpit detail looks good for the scale but I'm a bit concerned that the way the intake tunnel has been tooled may create problems for including the necessary weight to keep the nose down. The decal sheet looks ok to me and unusually comprehensive for Trumpeter but the underwing roundels do look a tad out of register. Hopefully they are a trial run and the decals in the kit will be better. The missile is included on the grey sprue as well as the clear one giving the modeller the choice of using either or both to provide a hybrid if you feel the work is merited. Tony
  14. Tremendous progress thus far, John. If you are still looking, the instructions in the Airfix kit state the nose cone should be Humbrol 78 and the F6 I saw recently at NEAM at Sunderland would appear to bear this out. However, as Graham T said earlier in the post the appearance can vary tremendously depending on the lighting and weather conditions and also how new and clean looking you want your aircraft to look. Tony
  15. There is a Revell one on ebay, not sure if I am permitted to paste the link or not, but it's there at £9 plus p/p Tony
  16. Hi Phil what's the scheme on the wall behind the Bismarck please? Tony
  17. Thanks Hugh, you're right, it's a very useful reference. Tony
  18. 27 times 16 = £432. Hum, i wonder how that would go down at home! Tony
  19. Wonderland claim to have it for £16 but it isn't 1n the Italeri catalogue yet. decal options shown on the Hannants site look ok but I would have liked a red/white/grey one. Still, there's always the aftermarket boys I suppose. Tony
  20. I got mine from the Mr Models Dungeon at the Brampton model show last Sunday. It cost £27. Tony
  21. Like the technique, Mike. I might pinch it for use on my Churchill. Tony
  22. Hi Tony did you have to alter the turret transparency as well? Tony
  23. Stunning work, especially in such a small scale, David. Tony
  24. I was donated one by a kindly Club member and my wife managed to obtain a badger adapter from Stevenage Hobbycraft yesterday but I think that I will have a practice brfore attempting to assault this kit with paint! Tony
