  1. Got you! Neither kit supplies retraction jacks for the crew access door, which is odd as they are rather substantial. Unfortunately when @stever219 and I were there yesterday the crew access door was shut so I couldn’t take any pictures. The museum are hoping to start aircraft cockpit tours soon.
  2. The doors are there, they need to be fitted before the undercarriage legs. What’s missing are the rods connecting the doors to the legs. There’s one either side of each leg.
  3. The pictures were taken on Thursday afternoon in searing hot temperatures with bright sunlight, neither of which are helpful when taking photographs. The aircraft is painted in the same 44 squadron scheme she was in on arrival from Waddington in February 1983; I wasn’t there but I really wish I was! Dark Sea Grey/Dark Green camouflage over Light Aircraft Grey. The bays are very definitely white, the contrast in real life is actually greater than it looks. There is a tan coloured panel to the rear of the retro fitted raised Doppler radar (which is Light Aircraft Grey). I should have taken a picture of that also; that may explain why the transfer on the kit sheet is tan. It needs trimming because it shouldn’t cover the raised panel, which needs to be removed (as has been written elsewhere) if the kit scheme A is being modelled.
  4. PM inbound. The pictures are on Flickr now but but the copy link function doesn’t seem to be working.
  5. I’m still trying to work out how to get mine loaded, using One Drive. I’m not seeing an embed option when I open the relevant file.
  6. Me! I was at Newark Air Museum on Thursday afternoon to collect my pair and took the opportunity to take some photos at the same time.
  7. I have a resin “Douglas Bader” in my First of the Few combo.
  8. Me! I was at Newark Air Museum on Thursday afternoon to collect my pair and took the opportunity to take some photos at the same time.
  9. Special entry platforms were set up in the Cold War Hangar alongside each aircraft, except for the Vulcan where the standard crew entry door was open. The only one I could (barely 🙂) see into from my wheelchair was the Victor because the door opens rather wide. @stever219 was with me armed with both of our cameras to take pictures. It was a “Grand Day Out”!
  10. The Valiant cockpit at Cosford was opened in February 2017, along with those of the Victor and Vulcan, for a special V Bomber event. It was a supposed to be a one-off and predictably was extremely well attended.
  11. I was able to extensively peruse the new kit last night with @stever219 and we noticed that there was very obviously a sprue missing. We aren’t 100 certain but we think that it’s the Black Buck specific parts due for release in the not too distant future. Some of those aircraft were 201 powered; that may explain why the engine parts are in the kit but not covered on the instructions. Thanks for the correction, Adam.
  12. That’s awful, Seamus. I’ve seen some short shots in my time but that’s one of the worst. I hope you get the issue resolved quickly.
  13. Mrs Avro has a similar view to my stash (and on occasion has been known to actively encourage it!). I appreciate that I am in an incredibly fortunate position and will never do anything to jeopardise it.
  14. I’m collecting a couple of these in the not too distant future so will be following this thread with keen interest. As a member of Newark Air Museum I feel it would be rude not to build one representing their airframe, using its current configuration but with the D type roundels.
