    Paul I would fix those national markings. They are way too large. Ruben from Lima November Decals has produced some very nice (and correct) generic Danish markings sheets in all three major scales. I would be worth using them on your build. Jens

    It probably will. The Eduard kits are off dimensionally. Especially the wing span makes it look off just by looking at it. If the 1/48th scale kit is anything like their 1/32nd scale kit we're in for a treat! Jens

    OP is right in assuming the barrel wasn't centered in the pod - it wasn't. I have clear pictures showing that. However, I was unable to find a clear view of the starboard side pod, but judging from one picture it could look like is was a mirror image of the port side. Jens

    Yes, the upper one is correct for the Danish F-104s. I know Italy and Germany used the rounded one, but I am not sure about other users. Jens

    Beware that this is not the type of Mk. 7 seat used in the Danish Starfighters. Ours had headrests with straight sides instead of bulged. Jens

    I have only seen a couple of pictures showing 3rd TFW F-4s carrying ALQ-131, and none er clear enough to determine the colours. I safe bet, however, is olive green. You can see here how they were fitted in the Sparrow well: Jens

    Mine is exactly the same with over 1 mm gap in height. Jens

    You don't often see USN carrier borne F-4s with 370 gal. wing tanks. The VF-84 photo is from their first cruise. That accounts for the anomalies. Jens

    Their 1/48 series started having recessed panel lines from the long nosed versions, i.e. E, EJ, F and G. All short nosed ones had raised panel lines initially, but a re-tooling of the F-4J or S led to all newer F-4J/S having recessed panel lines. The B/N and C/D retained their raised panel lines though.     At first I thought they were identical to the RESCUE titles on our (Danish) Merlins, but no. However, they do look like the ones used on the Norwegian Sea Kings. I have close-ups of those markings. It should be possible to piece together the 'RESCUE' from 'REDNINGSTJENESTE'. Would that be any help? Jens

    If you're into poor fit, soft details, raised panel lines and huge sink marks, this is the kit just for you. I would spend my money on the AFV Club offering instead, if I were you. Jens

    It's on the lower surfaces and out of sight normally, so it does not distract from the lovely model you have built. Jens
