Ref Fruil tracks chaps, a mate ordered a few sets direct from them and they took 3 weeks to land in Blighty.

Some work on the weapon fit and few other small things. Napalm MK-77's get some paint, MRP White Aluminium over Tamiya gloss black. Underwing drop tank gets more paint and tidied up a little more, Pitot fitted to the tail and painted, underwing pitot gets some metallic paint. Enjoy

Not me chief, was never around it, didn't see it, didn't touch it and I wasn't in the country, anyway it was like that when I saw it last !

Start of the week update, not much time at the bench over the weekend so just a meagre update. Messing about with the HF wire antenna, made from Uschi rigging thread 0.005 so pretty thin. Ball insulator is made from PVA glue and the collar is some micro insulation taken from an Apple Iphone charging lead threaded on. Wing drop tank filled - scribed and primed up along with some marble effects, Main gear doors primed and ready for paint. Brass Pitot is also primed ready for paint. These also arrived today, nothings says I love you more than a drop of Napalm.

I’ll second the Masters Brush cleaner, it’s top notch stuff and has revitalised some of my older brushes. A must for the serious painter.

Just be careful with acetone, it will dissolve plastic.

Deffo Racal masts as they have the clamps rather than the push and twist pins that the Clarkes PU12 masts have. They do look nice so I'll probably invest in a set for my 436 build. Also handy for a 110 FFR.

This is where I'm at today. Just test fitted the undercarriage to see how it all looks. Added the first two decals on the canopy ! From Airscale and tiny, main decals won't be two long now. Still some fettling of the cam in some places but its getting close now. Enjoy

So a micro update then Main drop tank painted up, I've added some punched disc's to represent part of the sway braces which are glued onto the drop tank. Canopy opening handles painted and added, one of the few parts of the Eduard PE set used for this build. Also sorted the engine and cowl now so they are glued up.

It did look a tad big for whip sections tbh unless it was the troop storemans tank 😉

Just wait until the CinC home front claps her eyes on that !!

Cheers chaps, I did more work last night but it’s not really update worthy, mainly cleaning up droptanks and scribing missing details. More work on the canopy areas, I should be able to get an update out later tonight. I did notice that I’ve missed an area of green from one of the wingtips so that will get added later. More work again tonight, this time some actual detail painting It doesn't look like I've done much since my last update but I have .... honest. Main canopy has been painted up on the outside only as I have to add the yellow grab handles to the inside, quite noticeable from the outside. Some antennas block painted, the white VHF antenna needs more work but as we all know white is a complete b1tch to brush paint. It's rough ! So a question to those who know, the engine cowl flaps - Are they white or interior green? These are ones on the inside of the cowl, I've painted mine green but I cannot find the ref pix I based it on. Enjoy

I’ll probably do the old armour modellers trick and heavily thin Tamiya deck tan and spray over the the whole airframe, 15% paint 85% thinners just drifted over very carefully. That normally merges/ helps blend any paint anomalies 😉

More work on the paint job tonight, a bit of refining done with the Procon but I'm struggling with the wavy demarcation from the underside to the cam colours, lots of overspray so I might mask it Rear stabs got some paint tonight. Enjoy

Main blocking in done with the primary colours, cockpit opening unmasked so i'll used the masked up main canopy as a mask to clean up the area around the pit ledge where I used masking fluid to stop the cockpit getting sprayed. Next thing is to dial in the Procon brush with a smaller needle to tighten up the colours - or at least try Liking the MRP SEA colours, they look a good close match. Cheers for following along
