Hi Start of the week grump, the fridge freezer failed and the hot water tank started leaking this weekend, finally my watch has stopped working pinched myself to ensure i felt pain and was still alive felt more pain when i paid for the replacement bye bye hobby budget for a month or so cheers jerry

Hi Hopefully someone comes along I cant get to my files at the moment but net searches seem to say the original DO-217 engines were 801A/L run on B-3 the later DO-217 engines were a modified 801D-2 which ran on C-3 so maybe ? possibly ? the bombers did the same thing ? a friend of mine in the uk, many years ago recovered a FW-190A-5 fighter bomber u/c leg that had red paint on it which crashed off devon coast any experts ? cheers jerry

  9. Hi vaguely in my memory i recall luftwaffe a/c had a portion of the u/c legs painted red if they used 100 octane fuel,(C-3?) for groundcrew info. I cant recall what octane the DO-217 used at the mo cheers jerry

Hi when i was an apprentice in the 70's one of the guys training me was ex RN ww2 he said he was happy he did badly in his trade test, as after he found out that the top couple of percent always went straight to the submarine service he scored enough to get on frigates he was a mechanic but scored high enough to be put in the electrical trade and he had great RN stories to tell cheers jerry

Hi slightly o/t I gave up selling on ebay years ago, only buy now wierd things happen i ordered a kit never arrived, got a refund then months later seller told me i had it and signed for it which was interesting as i was at work that day and no one was in, and he couldnt produce sny copy of a signature cheers jerry

Hi Carl Many thanks for the reply and your help in the past here on BM Yes there is one sheet in the pocket and like the book is in very good condition, I think i got a bargain The book is excellent and the content is way beyond what i was expecting, especially for me the sections with info the west coast Libs It mentions other books , were there any others produced after No 2 ? cheers jerry

Hi All, Just managed to get a copy of canada's wings 2 B-24 & B-17 for only $20 cad At the back is a pouch with pull out drawings of the B-24 I just wondered if anyone knows as the book is secondhand if there was only ever one pull out sheet of drawings or it there was more than one ? cheers jerry

  23. Hi I have been searching on the net as I have no Hudson books and can't find the answer So can anyone tell me ? What is the main differences between the mark I onwards thro to and including the mark VI Just engines and cowlings ? cheers Jerry
